Chapter 165
Lil Lily stared at the words on the mirror Goddess Lyra, what does this mean? And who is this god
Lyra didn’t answer right away. She was piecing together everything they knew so far
Everyone in the meeting room was deep in thought, except for Charlie, whose fingers flew across the keyboard as he entered Alex’s item details into the System and projected them onto the big screen.
Ms. Reed glanced at the screen before speaking. This means Alex is now in a state between human and non-human”
“His health is permanently locked at 50%, and it can’t be restored or healed Ms. Reed tapped the table “In other words his maximum health has been cut in half. He’ll always be at half health, but there’s a silver lining for him.”
“What do you mean? Garrett asked.
“Look at the downside: if he dies before completing the game mission, he loses 10% health each round. Ms. Reed paused “But if you think about it the other way, as long as he completes the mission, he won’t die.”
Lil Lily’s eyes widened. “He can’t die even if someone kills him?”
“Exactly. Ms. Reed nodded. ‘As long as he finishes the mission before he’s killed, his half-life form will revive hum. Last round, he killed ten people, so the mission was already done. Lyra’s needle killed him, and then he came back
Lyra leaned back in her chair. So we just have to take him out before he completes the mission.”
Everyone turned to look at her.
“He loses 10% of his health every round, starting from 50 Five rounds max, and he’s finished for good.” Lyra said.
Lana looked up at her. “If nothing goes wrong next round we can take one of his lives. He’s got the Phantom Boots and the Soul Extinguisher Lantern to suppress souls, but those are just backup gear.
“His offensive gear is weak against fire, and you guys are loaded with firepower now, Lana added.
“Exactly! I’ve finally mastered my three Vital Flames’ Next time I see him. I’m definitely roasting him I il Lily nodded in
agreement.
Garrett didn’t respond. His eyes were still fixed on the big screen, locked onto those four wonds
Garrett read the words aloud: Symbiosis with the Divine”
His brow furrowed. “God? Which god are we talking about?”
Wasnt this game supposed to be all about tech? How did gods get mixed up in this Garrett asked.
Lana set down her pen. Tech is just the surface, what’s underneath might not be tech at all
“Could be some kind of supernatural force, maybe even a so-called god, Lana said
Lil Lily just stared, mouth agape.
Lyra suddenly spoke up ‘Chances are, this isn’t tech at all.”
Lana looked at her.
Lina has this Sacrifice Mask, its for making deals with a demon. If the game was just some tech product where would the whole demon thing even come from?” Lyra asked

“And now there’s a ‘god’ in the mix too,” Lyra added.
“One artifact is bound to a demon, another is linked to a god,” Lyra said.
She jerked her chin at the big screen.
“Whether this god is the real deal or just another evil entity, it’s part of the same system as the demon. Soul power, soul bodies, soul annihilation, plus sacrifices and divine revelations, it all fits together,” Lyra said.
Ms. Reed picked up the thread. “In the Avatamsaka Sutra, it talks about the three thousand great worlds. Tagism has similar ideas, countless realms existing side by side.”
She adjusted her reading glasses. “We’ve suspected for a while that this Game Invasion has hit other planets before. We’re not the first.”
“If it really spans multiple worlds, then all the different types of items in the prize pool make sense, soul-based, tech-based, magic-based, potion-based. They all come from different places, but the game has pulled them all into its own system,” Ms. Reed explained.
“But that’s not what I’m really worried about right now,” Ms. Reed said.
She pointed at the red-highlighted line on the screen. “When the revelation is triggered, the god will borrow the user’s body.”
“If my guess is right…” Ms. Reed hesitated, choosing her words carefully. “That so-called god who borrows his body is the game itself.”
The atmosphere in the meeting room shifted, and even Charlie’s keyboard went silent.
Garrett turned to Ms. Reed, his lips moving but no words coming out.
Lil Lily tilted her head, her hand still resting on the Fate-Seeker Mirror. “Why would the game want to borrow his body?”
After Ms. Reed finished her analysis, Lana got up and headed to the whiteboard. She grabbed a black marker, popped off the cap, and started sketching out a diagram as she talked.
“If this ‘god’ is actually the game itself, then it means the game can’t really mess with things inside the mission while it’s running, Lana said.
“It needs someone to act for it, a host inside the mission. By taking over a player’s body, it can pull off stuff it normally can’t do on its own, Lana explained.
“Like slipping past certain rules, or dodging detection,” Lana added.
Lil Lily rested her chin in her hand. “Whose attention are we talking about?”
Lana didn’t answer. She just kept drawing on the whiteboard, sketching out two circles.
In the first circle, she wrote “Faction Alpha,” and in the second, “Faction Beta.”
“Let’s assume the game has two factions,” Lana said.
Under Faction Alpha, she wrote “Good,” and under Faction Beta, she wrote “Evil.”
“For the players, one side’s got your back, the other’s out to mess you up,” Lana said.
She glanced back at Lyra and Lil Lily.
“When Lyra was drawing prizes, her luck kept flipping between D Tier and S Tier. I already suspected there were two powers

tugging at her from both sides. And what happened to Lil Lily this round just proves it even more,” Lana said.
Under Faction Alpha, she wrote “Prize Pool.”
“The Prize Pool is run by the side that’s on your side. When Lil Lily was picking her gear, the game itself helped her choose and combine items, and even let her keep her choices secret from everyone else,” Lana explained.
Then, under Faction Beta, she wrote “mission.”
“The mission is run by the hostile side,” Lana said. “Blank Hit Lists, cheat sheets, Battle Royale rules, every deathtrap comes from the mission layer. Even much of Lyra’s gear was sabotaged.”
“These two factions keep each other in check,” Lana said.
She drew a double-headed arrow between the two circles, then wrote two words above it.
God.
Demon.
“Alex’s Half-Life Revelation is tied to the god,” Lana said.
“Lina’s Sacrifice Mask is tied to the demon,” Lana said.
“One god, one demon,” Lana said.
She tapped her pen between the two words. “Each one corresponds to one of the game’s two factions.”
Ms. Reed nodded slightly.
Lil Lily stared at the diagram on the whiteboard, mumbling under her breath, “So is the god good or bad?”
Lana’s pen hovered for a moment. “We can’t judge by the name alone.”
