Chapter 184
Everyone turned to look at her.

Lyra stood up from her chair and walked over to the projection screen, tapping her finger on the image of the three-eyed Wraith. “This Level 2 Wraith made such a racket before it died that it drew in a whole swarm of its kind.”
She turned around and looked at the video screen. “If Ms. Reed’s guess is right, and the stronger ones are closer to the center, then could the R-17 Gate Sunhwa mentioned be hidden right at the center here?”
The conference room fell silent. Lyra’s sudden leap in thought left everyone momentarily stunned.
“The R-17 Gate Sunhwa mentioned, we still haven’t found it. Could it be hidden at the very center?” Lyra repeated, emphasizing her point.
Ms. Reed nodded. “If there’s only one gate, and if it really exists, it’s most likely hidden in the safest spot in the Invasion
Zone.”
Zoe picked up the thread. “For the Invasion Zone, the safest spot would be the very center. The outer ring has Level 1 Wraiths on patrol, the middle layer is guarded by Level 2 Wraiths, and the core area…”
She trailed off, but everyone got the message.
The core area was probably guarded by Level 3 Wraiths, Level 4 Wraiths, or maybe even higher-level Wraiths.
Lyra let out a sigh. “Each level of Wraith is stronger than the last. When will we ever make it to the center?”
Lana looked at Lyra’s gloomy face on the screen and softened her voice. “Lyra, don’t worry.”
Lyra looked up at her.
“Tomorrow’s Friday,” Lana said. “The Alliance States meeting will officially kick off, and we’ll be rolling out the Vital Flame Cultivation method everywhere. At the same time, our country will launch nationwide cultivation, everyone will be able to start training.
There are still over 200 million people in Draconia. If everyone starts cultivating together, the day we wipe out the Wraiths won’t be far off,” Lana continued.
Lyra pressed her lips together and nodded.
“One more thing, Lana said, turning to Zoe. “Zoe, another group of soldiers made it through the Vital Flame Cultivation this afternoon. I’ll send you the list after the meeting, and you can take care of it.”
Zoe nodded. “Got it.”
Lana turned back to Lyra. “Kill as many outer-ring Level I Wraiths as possible to power up your Soul Deck. For the new Level 2 type, now that we know its habits and weakness, avoid group fights until the new weapons deploy.”
Lyra nodded. “Got it. If there are more than ten Level 2 Wraiths, we bail. None are faster than Jane anyway.” Her eyes sparkled. “Maybe we can bait the three-eyed Wraiths apart and take them down one by one!”
“That’s a solid plan.” Ms. Reed agreed. “As long as you keep it safe, adapt as needed out there.”
Lana nodded, grabbing her notebook. “Today’s info is super important. Since we’re pretty sure there are more than just two types of Wraiths in the Invasion Zone, let’s start ranking them for easier memory and analysis from now on.”
The ones we’ve run into wandering around the outer ring of the Invasion Zone, let’s call those Level I Wraiths. And the three-eyed Wraiths we saw this afternoon, those are Level 2 Wraiths,” Lana continued.

Chapter 184
She paused. “If we come across any new types later, we’ll just keep numbering them, Level 3, Level 4, and so on.
Lyra nodded. “Works for me.”
Ms. Reed spoke up. “With the ranking system, it’ll be easier to assess the risks. A Level 1 Wraith can be handled by a single Vital Flame warrior. A Level 2 Wraith probably needs a team. As for Level 3 and above…”
Lyra rubbed her fingers together. She muttered, “So, the R-17 Gate… If it’s really at the very center, what level of Wraith would be guarding it?”
No one answered, but everyone knew it wouldn’t be Level 1 or Level 2.
The conference wrapped up, and the feed cut off.
Zoe started packing up her notebook, while Lyra stretched and wandered over to the window, gazing out at the base’s lights.
“Jane, Lyra called out.
“Yeah?” Jane replied.
“You’ve seen all kinds of Wraiths, right? Do you think each one is tougher than the last?” Lyra asked.
Jane moved over to stand beside her, staring out the window. “I don’t know, but it’s definitely possible.”
“You really can’t remember any details at all?” Lyra asked.
!
“Just some fragments,” Jane replied after a couple seconds. “I remember one that looked like a giant blob of meat, but the details are pretty hazy.”
“And there was another one,” Jane continued. “It was seriously huge. I only caught its silhouette from a distance, it was enormous.” She stopped there, thinking, ‘No use stressing everyone out with stuff I’m not even sure about.
Lyra was quiet for a moment. “Then we need to hurry.”
Jane turned to look at her, and Lyra spun around, her eyes shining. “They’re getting stronger, so we have to get stronger too. As long as we’re stronger than them, we’ll keep winning!”
Zoe finished packing and walked over, patting Lyra’s shoulder. “Let’s get food and rest tonight. Who knows, maybe tomorrow’s new weapons from the institute will one-shot Level 2 Wraiths.”
“Oh, right!” Lyra smacked her forehead. “I was in such a rush today, I didn’t even get a chance to channel any energy into the souls.
Lyra nodded, turned, and pulled open the conference room door. The night breeze swept in, making the hair at her temples flutter softly.
Jane drifted alongside her, then suddenly spoke up. “Lyra.”
Lyra turned her head. “Yeah?”
“If that day ever comes,” Jane said softly, “and we make it to the center of the Invasion Zone and see that door,
“I’ll scout ahead for you,” Jane said. “No matter what’s waiting on the other side.”
Lyra grinned. “We’ll do it together, Jane. You’re my personal radar now.”
Jane laughed too. “Go ahead and seal me away, and make sure you get some rest. We’ll fight side by side tomorrow.”
“You got it, Lyra said, pulling out her Soul Deck. “Soul Deck, seal!”
