I got a Strength Potion last round and drank it-my strength definitely went up. Lydia thought, but who knows if drinking another one will actually do anything.

Once Lydia stepped out, Lina walked up to the beam, took a deep breath, and stepped inside, hoping her personal prize pool would give her a nice surprise.

Lydia walked over to Lyra and handed her the Strength Potion.

“I’ve already had one, so this one’s yours,” Lydia said.

Lyra was still holding the cat, so she freed up one hand to take the bottle, glanced at it, and then passed it right back to Lydia.

“You drink it,” Lyra said.

“I’ve already had one,” Lydia replied.

“Since the System gave you another one, maybe the effects will stack,” Lyra said.

Lydia hesitated for a second.

Lyra gestured at the bottle with her chin. “I’m not sure either, so you should give it a shot.”

Lydia looked down at the bottle in her hand, twisted off the cap, and downed it in one gulp.

“So? How is it?” Lily asked, her eyes full of anticipation.

Lydia clenched her fist, and her arm muscles flexed. “It really does stack! I’ll test my strength when I get back

Lydia slipped the empty bottle into her pocket and took the cat back from Sergei

[Congratulations, Lina from Southern Reach, for drawing an A Tier reward: Sacrifice Mask.)

Lina stepped out of the beam, holding a mask made of some unknown material, etched with twisted patterns The hollow eye holes made her uneasy the longer she stared at it.

She hurried over to Lyra and lowered her voice. “Lyra, this item is called the Sacrifice Mask. You can offer something to the devil in exchange for a wish.”

“What do you have to sacrifice?” Lyra asked.

“Anything-items, stuff, whatever. The more valuable your sacrifice, the better reward you’ll get for your wish I ma replied

Lina handed Lyra the mask. Lyra just gave it a quick look, making a mental note of the details

Lily squeezed in between them, her head popping up between Lyra and Lina. She asked Lina with a dead serious face. So, can you sacrifice the game itself?”

Chapter 88

Lina almost dropped the mask in shock.

Lyra turned to look at Lily.

Lily blinked twice, her face full of “I’m totally serious” energy.

Lyra thought, ‘Kids really do have wild imaginations.”

Lina was still trying to wrap her head around it, her eyes going wide. “You can actually sacrifice the game itself?”

Lyra shot Lina another look.

What an idiot, Lyra thought.

Footsteps echoed from up ahead as Sergei walked over, holding something about the size of his palm. It looked a bit like a stuffed doll, but not quite.

“B Tier item,” Sergei said, holding it out for everyone to see.

It was a human-shaped husk-just skin, nothing inside.

Flat and floppy, its limbs splayed out like someone had squashed a paper doll. The surface was smooth, with no face or

features at all.

“Lure Husk,” Sergei read out the name. “If you put in one of your hairs and three drops of blood, it’ll puff up into a perfect copy of you in thirty seconds.”

Lydia glanced at the husk. “Is it identical?”

“Yeah, it’s a perfect match,” Sergei replied.

“Can it actually move?” Lydia asked.

“Doesn’t say in the description,” Sergei replied.

Lyra stared at the Lure Husk for a couple seconds. ‘So this thing is basically bait-it’s meant to lure the Wraiths over, she thought

This was different from her Decoy Doll. The doll was for taking hits, but this husk was just a decoy

“Good stuff. Lyra said, not bothering to explain further

Serger nodded and slipped the husk into his pocket.

Laly spun around, counting heads. It was just her and Goddess Lyra lett

“Goddess Lyra, I’m going to draw my prize first!” Laly called out

She shoved the cat into Lana’s arms, clasped her hands together, and looked up at the sky with a super devout expression

“Mom, please bless me! Lily prayed.

With that, she turned and dashed straight into the glowing column for her personal prize

Everyone’s eyes were glued to the beam.

One second.

Two seconds.

Lily dashed out of the bear, holding the Six-Faced Hear the high above her heart Each of its uz faces shistharged with a different color

“Love you, Mom! Tier Lily shouted, waving the die triumphantly

She ran straight up to Lyra, her excitement practically bursting out of her face

Goddess Lyra! Mine’s & Tier too! Laly exclaimed, barely able to contain her yay

Lyra glanced at the die in Lily’s hand. Each side had a different expression etched onto it.

“Six-Faced Heart Die, Lyra muttered under her breath.

In the distance, Tanaka glared at the die in Lily’s hand, his eyes burning with resentment. “Why do all the Draconia player always get 5 Tier rewards?”

“This is so unfair! The game is seriously rigged!” Tanaka grumbled.

No one paid him any attention.

Park Jung-hoon tugged on Tanaka’s sleeve, signaling him to shut up. Tanaka just pouted and turned away.

“Goddess Lyra, it’s your turn!” Lily said, cradling the die as she stepped aside and gave her a thumbs-up for encouragement.

Lyra handed over all the cats she was holding and walked toward the personal prize pool with empty hands. Once inside. she realized it was just like the real-world prize pool-items rotated through, but the contents were different.

She started daydreaming, wondering where the System kept everyone’s personal inventory. If I could just find that storage room, I could pick and choose whatever I wanted, no limits-now that would be the dream, Lyra thought, feeling pretty pleased with herself.

The System’s announcement echoed in everyone’s ears.
