His Hidden Family My Ruined Marriage (Liana) novel Chapter 126

Chapter 126 Theo Has a Fever

Liana couldn’t help but stare at him. Now, he didn’t seem like a quack at all.

Even though he hadn’t mentioned her pregnancy.

“Why is your name Liana?” Roy asked her abruptly.

All three people in the room were surprised, yet each remained calm.

“My mom said… You are… my great-uncle?”

Liana looked at him, finally understanding the strange sense of familiarity she’d felt since their first meeting.

“Looks like you already know. I’m the kid who cut ties with my parents back then,” Roy said, speaking of the past as if he were still that untamed youth.

Quentin and Lily now understood. This was family. Blood family.

Early the next morning, Elian was having breakfast with Theo when Liana’s call came through.

Seeing her name light up his screen, his eyes darkened. Still, he answered quickly. “Got the money together already?”

“Yeah. Check it. I just wired it to that bank account you set up for me before,” Liana replied.

Elian’s eyes narrowed to slits instantly.

“Mr. Locke, can we go finalize the divorce today?” she asked carefully, standing before the mirror, her gaze fixed on her no-longer-flat stomach.

“I’m having breakfast at Westhaven Estates. Why don’t you come pick me up?” he suggested.

“Couldn’t you just meet me at the courthouse?” Liana’s voice hitched slightly before she continued, “I’ll wait for you there.”

“Afraid not. The car’s in for service,” Elian stated.

A wave of gloom rolled through Liana. But her hand drifted to her subtly changed abdomen, and she agreed quietly, “Alright.”

So now, he didn’t even need to hide the Westhaven Estates from her?

There was a time he hadn’t even wanted her to know it existed.

But maybe this was for the best. It meant they were both ready to move on.

After hanging up, Liana quickly grabbed her bag and jacket and headed out.

Her vintage sedan wasn’t fast anymore, but it obeyed her faithfully.

Half an hour later, she pulled up to the grand mansion in Westhaven Estates.

Next to the main gate was a wooden plaque with just two words: Locke Residence.

Seeing those words still stung. But as she drove inside, the anxiety was less sharp.

This was his other home.

It was larger than their municipal park.

The landscaping, the artificial lake-everything was immaculately, beautifully maintained.

And he was having breakfast here this morning. What did that signify?

Why wouldn’t he admit what he had with Anya?

He had no reason to hide it. What could she, a nobody, possibly do to him?

She parked and dialed his number again.

This time, he didn’t answer. Instead, an older housekeeper hurried out.

“Mrs. Locke? Mr. Locke is tending to Theo. Please, come inside and wait.”

“That’s not necessary. I’ll wait here,” Liana replied politely, seeing that the woman was

courteous.

“Please do come in, Mrs. Locke. Theo had a high fever last night, over 104 degrees. It hasn’t broken yet. He heard you were coming and has been asking for you,” the housekeeper urged warmly.

“No,” Liana refused again.

It wasn’t that she was heartless. She simply had no interest in stepping into someone else’s home.

Every mention of Westhaven Estates was a fresh twist of pain in her heart.

But no one cared.

She sat quietly in her car until Elian’s number flashed on her screen again.

She answered, “Hello?”

“Come up. Don’t make me repeat myself.”

That was all he said before disconnecting, as if he hadn’t heard the strain in her voice at all.

It took Liana a long moment after setting the phone down to finally push the car door open.
