Elian introduced him briefly.

Liana nodded politely and continued, “I was on the phone. When I heard the noise and turned around, I only saw a drone hovering outside the window. It stayed for about a minute.”
Thinking about last night still made her blood run cold.
“Have you offended anyone recently?” Liam asked, nodding thoughtfully.
“Does he count?”
Liana turned to look at Elian.
Elian frowned at her. Was she treating him like the enemy?
Liam chuckled, “Elian, you’re failing as a husband.”
Elian clenched his jaw, staring at Liana’s delicate, oval face. He smiled, then hooked an arm around her shoulders, pulling her to his side. He looked at Liam. “Yes, I’ll do better. Finish up and leave. Get me a result as soon as possible.”
“Relax. Next time, bring your wife to dinner. That’s not asking too much, right?” Liam asked, seeing his cousin was eager to get rid of him.
“I get it.” Elian’s eyes urged him to hurry up.
“Then we won’t disturb you any further.” Liam took the hint and left with his team.
Liana moved to see them out when Elian grabbed her am and pulled her back.
Elian pinned her against the wall, his hands braced on ether side of her, his gaze intensely focused on her.
Liana couldn’t help but look back. His familiar, masculine scent enveloped her, reminding her of the morning after their first sex, when he’d pinned her against the door just like this and kissed her.
Memories of those passionate kisses flashed before her yes. Her defenses crumbled. Tears threatened.
“On our wedding day, I told you to call me if anything happened. Did you forget?” Elian didn’t mention the divorce. He asked her this.
“Would I be foolish enough to think I could pull you away from Ms. Forrest’s bed?”
She forced the words out, her voice clear.
Last night, she’d been too scared to sleep. She’d wanted to call him so many times, but in the end, she’d just curled up tighter.
“Why bring me into this? How do I know if the man I saw hugging you this morning was here comforting you all night?”
Elian’s tone turned sour, laced with sarcasm.
“That’s crap! I’ve never spent the night with another man!”

“Don’t bother explaining. I saw it with my own eyes. I’llave Nathan draft the agreement for you to sign as soon as possible. But until the divorce is final, Mrs. Locke, please remember your marital vows.”
Elian suddenly gripped her shoulders tighter, his words deliberate and humiliating.
“Don’t worry, Mr. Locke. Before our divorce, I won’t be having any children with other men,” Liana retorted, her voice tight with hurt and anger.
How could he, with his other family, assume everyone else was just as unfaithful?
Elian’s eyes narrowed. Understanding her insinuation, he let out a low laugh. “Even if you wanted to, could you? We’ve been trying for over two months, and your belly hasn’t shown a thing, has it?”
Liana was stunned.
So he didn’t know she was
pregnant?
So the box of abortion pills in her bag was something Alya sent under his name?
“Cat got your tongue? Did I hit a nerve?” Elian said it, then felt a sudden weight in his chest. He studied her face.
“Yes,” Liana murmured numbly.
“Serves you right.”
