His Hidden Family My Ruined Marriage (Liana) novel Chapter 169

Chapter 169 Take Her Away

Jett glanced at Anya kneeling on the floor, frowned, and walked in.

He didn’t know exactly what had happened, but he could guess.

They’d been exposed.

Xander and Nathan had warned him. If they knew, there was no way Elian wouldn’t.

Anya looked over at Jett, and her heart felt like a hammer had smashed it to pulp.

Yeah. Rotten and filthy.

Jett met her gaze for only a second before looking down then at Elian. “Elian, I was just coming to check if Anya and Theo were okay.”

“Take her away. We’ll talk later,” Elian said.

Jett’s long legs felt unsteady.

The more calmly Elian spoke, the more panic he felt.

He was impulsive, not stupid. He knew the gravity of his mistake. He was afraid to go near Anya right now.

“Jett.” Elian’s voice was flat as he called his name again.

Jett had no choice but to step fully into the room.

The air screamed danger, like he’d trespassed where he shouldn’t.

Theo finally quieted down, ears pricked as he listened in Liana’s arms.

He didn’t get it. He was just curious.

He stared at the new man in the doorway with wide, tear-filled eyes.

“Anya,” Jett said, stopping beside Anya and offering his hand.

Anya stared at that hand, feelings twisting into a bitter knot. She never imagined Jett would see her in such a humiliating state.

She was supposed to be his queen. She wanted to keep that way.

But here she was, at five in the morning, on the floor…

She didn’t take his hand. She pushed herself up on her own.

“Elian, Liana, I’ll go home first. Theo, say bye-bye to Mommy, okay?”

Her voice turned small, humble. Then she softened it for Theo.

But the moment Theo saw her look at him, he buried his face back into Liana’s chest, clutching her shirt.

Yeah, he didn’t understand.

But he understood more than anyone.

He just wanted to hide by someone safe.

And Liana was that person.

“Even you don’t want Mommy now? Then-”

“You should leave.”

Liana didn’t want to hear another word. Her sharp eyes cut through Anya’s act.

“Show some respect to Anya,” Jett immediately snapped glaring at Liana.

“Mhm.”

His voice was rough. Liana answered softly, grabbing her coat.

At the door, she sensed him behind her and stopped, turning. “Stay with Theo. No need to see me off.”

“I’ll have Lucas wait for you downstairs,” he said.

“Thanks.” She didn’t refuse. She was tired.

Elian didn’t follow, but after a few steps, Liana stopped again and looked back at him.

She was worried about Theo.

Anya would definitely come back today. After the scene this morning, if she just left, Theo would be at Anya’s mercy again.

She walked back, glanced at him, and asked quietly with her eyes lowered, “What time are you leaving?”

“When Anya gets here.”

He watched her dodge his gaze, fingers itching to tilt her chin up-yet in the end, he just stuffed both hands into his pockets and spoke, his tone cool and detached.

His words felt like a cold gust. She looked up at him.

“I see.” She turned and left.

Elian stood watching her, his eyes growing darker.

In the elevator, Liana dialed Linda’s number.

Linda had just finished breakfast and was planning to go out. Seeing Liana’s call, she answered cheerfully. “Hello, Liana dear! What is it?”
