Chapter 210 He Guessed It
He didn’t stop, acting as if he’d suddenly gone deaf.
Liana stared at him in disbelief. Seeing him reach the upper floor, she had to raise her voice.
“Elian!”
She heard her own echo in the large space.
But he still didn’t stop.
He was gone, entering the master bedroom.
Liana stopped calling. Yes, she felt it now-he was doing it on purpose.
Humiliated and furious, she stood by the door staring at the upstairs landing for a long time, then turned her attention back to the door panel.
She tried entering possible codes.
But the lock emitted a warning beep. She couldn’t crack it.
Hearing the alarm, she stepped back, then turned and went inside again.
Elian was now in the master bathroom, stepping under the shower spray, stark naked.
Liana thought of the times he’d quietly taken spare keys to her apartment. She searched his living room for his spares, but the space was so vast, she didn’t even know where to start.
She checked under the coffee table, beneath the sofa, near the TV console-nothing.
A sense of being trapped settled over her. Then, his phone buzzed from the sofa. Her heart jumped. She went and picked it up.
It was Anya.
The sight annoyed her, so she clenched the phone in her hand and went upstairs.
Yes, she disliked hearing Anya’s voice, so she absolutely wouldn’t answer the call.
But would Elian let it ring?
At most, he’d decline twice. If Anya dared to call a third ime, he’d never hang up the third.
Liana marched upstairs, stopping at the bathroom door where he was pulling on pajamas.
He hadn’t closed the door, clearly not forbidding her entry.
After a moment’s thought, Liana offered him the phone. “Anya is calling you.”
Elian didn’t take it. He didn’t even glance at it.
Liana grew impatient. “You said you’d let me go.”
“Am I stopping you?”

Elian finally spoke, his voice metallic.
To Liana, he looked like he could shut her up for good at any second. Cold radiated off him.
“Tell me the code.”
“Mrs. Locke, how about you trade me the code to your apartment?”
Liana immediately fell silent.

“Oh, right. Can’t call you Mrs. Locke anymore. My apologies,” he said, moving past her out of the bathroom.
“Elian. can’t you just be the bigger person here? I just want to leave you.”
Liana followed him, her voice tinged with frustration.
Elian stopped by the bed, his tall frame turned away from her.
Worried her words were too harsh and might provoke him, Liana quietly took two steps back. But looking at him again, she knew they needed a clean break. So…
“I have no illusions about you anymore. I’ll be leaving Adleridge soon.”
“With my child?”
Elian turned around, his gaze sharp and accusatory.
Liana froze for a beat, then made up her mind.
“I told you I’m not pregnant.”
“You’ve been pushing for divorce because you’re scared I’ll fight you for custody, right?”
Elian suddenly closed the distance between them, the question he’d been suppressing finally spilling out.
So he’d guessed it.
Liana’s heart pounded wildly, but she quickly steeled herself and fired back.
“You think just because you’re the head of Locke Group everyone fears and fawns over you? In my eyes, you’re just a scumbag who disrespects his wife. What makes you think you deserve to have a child with me?
“You are utterly unworthy of me bearing your child.”
Liana put every ounce of force into her words, and then…
Yeah, that was harsh.
Probably no one in his life had ever spoken to him that cruelly, which was why he now looked as cold and sharp as a blade in deepest winter.
A long, dead silence filled the room before any movement came.
“Get out.”

His voice was icy.
“The code.”
Liana was scared, sure. But she refused to flinch.
“Our wedding anniversary.”
He clenched his fist, the cold, hard words forced from his throat.
He refused to look at her, fighting desperately not to do something he might later regret.

Hearing this, Liana couldn’t help but give him one more searching look. But she quickly stepped forward. placed his phone on the bedside table, and turned to stride out of the room.
Yes, she was leaving.
He said again, “Tomorrow.”
Liana, not far from the door, stopped, puzzled.
She didn’t have the courage to turn back, just waited silently for him to continue.
“Tomorrow morning at nine. This unworthy scumbag who doesn’t deserve to be a father will be at the courthouse, waiting for you to sign the papers.”
His face was grim. At this moment, he wanted nothing more than to give her back her freedom immediately.
Liana listened, then walked away.
Until he actually signed tomorrow, she would remain cautious.
After all, last time, he’d collapsed just two strokes of the pen away from finishing.
She hoped there would be no more surprises this time.
Yeah. No celebrating before the game is over.
By nine a.m. the next day, at the courthouse-
Same room, same clerk.
Inside, it felt gloomy. Silently, the clerk pushed the two papers toward them to sign.
