Chapter 216 The Kidnapping Attempt
It was the same muscular male driver who had been with Harriet yesterday.
“He’s your boss, not mine.”
Liana refused to go with him.
The man didn’t waste words. He stepped forward and delivered a sharp chop to the side of her neck.
When the medical staff helped Elian out of the MRI room, the hallway was empty.
“Strange. Mrs. Locke was just here,” one nurse commented.
Elian gave a cold snort. “Don’t count on her. I can walk myself.”
Hearing his tone and seeing the tall, imposing man now looking strangely aggrieved, the staff assumed at marital spat. “Mr. Locke, maybe sit for a moment.”
Elian was still dizzy, so he sank into a chair along the wall.
But the nurse immediately went to her colleague at the station. “Did you see where Mrs. Locke went?”
“A man carried her upstairs just now. Said she wasn’t feeling well.”
“Carried her? Oh no… what if it was a kidnapper?”
The two women spoke in hushed, frightened tones.
The nurse who had helped Elian ran back. “Mr. Locke, your wife might have been kidnapped.”
Elian’s mind went blank for a second. He hesitated for less than three seconds before springing to his feet and sprinting toward the stairs.
He had heard them vaguely before, but the moment the word “kidnapped” was mentioned, everything became crystal clear.
Liana hadn’t been knocked out, but she was disoriented.
When her senses returned, she was in a car.
She struggled to sit up, saw the man driving, and immediately turned to open the door.
But it was clearly child-locked, operable only from the driver’s side.
The man started the engine and drove her away.
Meanwhile, his earpiece was live. “Target secured. She’s in the car. Taking her in for testing now.”
Liana was horrified. “Where are you taking me?”
The man ignored her, focusing on driving smoothly to specific destination.

Chapter 216 The Kidnapping Attempt
Liana began pounding on the window. “Help! Someone help!”

The hospital parking lot was busy with cars coming and going, but no one seemed to look her way. Even if they did, they remained passive.
“Save your energy. The windows are tinted. Can’t see in. Okay.”
The man warned her, and that last word was spoken stiffly, formally-not to her.
Liana’s heart sank. She forced herself to think.
He’d just said he was taking her for testing.
The Forrests were going to force her to donate a piece of her liver to that old bastard?
Liana knew she was out of options. She shot forward, reaching for the wheel.
The man easily caught her arm and, as the car ahead slowed, used the moment to shove her back into her
seat.
Then, a familiar voice came through the car speakers, directed at her.
“Consider it an honor to donate to me. Be smart. Do it willingly.
“It’s only a quarter of a liver. I’ll provide all the supplements you need to ensure it regenerates.”
It was Gerald, his voice dripping with smugness.
But…
Supplements?
Regeneration?
As if it were that simple?
A cold dread spread through Liana. She’d known they might force her, but she figured they’d do it in the dead of night
In broad daylight, at a hospital… she hadn’t anticipated his.
The car was slowly approaching the hospital exit.
Gerald’s voice came again, arrogant and forceful.
“Liana, it’s best if you volunteer. I’ll remember your contribution. But if we have to push it, don’t expect me to show an ounce of mercy.”
“No way,” Liana said firmly, lunging for the wheel again
Screech…
A violent screech of tires echoed through the parking garage, through the entire hospital.
Liana was thrown back by the force. Then she saw the figure sprawled across the hood and, for a moment,
