Chapter 93 Emergency Solved
It turned out the two boys were fighting over the same girl.
Liana sighed, feeling a pang of disappointment.
Both boys were top students in her class. So was the girl they liked.
She had hoped academics would be their priority. Yet here they were…
I’ll mark this down for them first-decide the punishment after the monthly exam.

“It’s not necessarily a bad thing for young men to know how to fight,” Liam said, stepping forward after the female officer finished the reports.
He felt a lecture was still in order. “Just don’t hurt each other badly enough for jail time. If you love fighting so much, apply to the police academy in a few years. You’ll have plenty of chances to throw punches there.”
Despite the bloody heads, when another officer asked if they were fit for class, both boys actually nodded.
They were nearly six-foot-tall young men now, caught between childish impulses and stubborn pride.
The parents, their eyes red from crying, were eventually soothed by the teachers’ repeated apologies and the police mediation, and they finally left.
Before departing, Liam said to Liana, “You should call your husband and let him know you’re alright. I’ve got to speed over to the precinct for a ten o’clock meeting.”
“Thanks again. Sorry for the trouble.”
“Your husband ordered me to help. Wouldn’t dare call it trouble,” Liam said with a smile before leaving.
After he was gone, thoughts of Elian resurfaced.
She hadn’t expected him to be so considerate. After only a moment’s hesitation, she dialed his number. “It’s all handled. Thank you for your help.”
“Glad you’re okay.”
Elian was already in a conference room, facing twenty or thirty subordinates.
“Elian, I’ll go to the manor at noon to get the marriage certificate. Can we meet at the courthouse steps this afternoon?”
“I’m in a meeting.”
Elian’s flat reply was followed by the click of the call ending.
Liana wasn’t angry at being hung up on. If anything, his earlier kindness made her want to finalize the divorce sooner.
A clean, amicable split was definitely the best outcome.
Even though he had been unfaithful in their marriage, he support he’d given her over the past two years was more than anyone except her mother had ever provided.

And that time, even though he rescued Anya first, he did eventually come back for her.
Liana remembered, in her dazed state, hearing him call her name. She knew he hadn’t been completely indifferent.
But that was precisely what made it worse. That he did care.
As tears threatened to spill, she tilted her head back, blinking up at the harsh fluorescent lights, her long lashes hiding all the pain.
At noon, she couldn’t get the certificate. The whole Locke family had gone hiking and wouldn’t be back unt tomorrow evening.
Her class was the first period after lunch. Scanning the students, she quickly found the two boys from the morning brawl. “Noah. Zachary. Both of you, go back the dorm and rest.”
In the morning, they’d just been bruised. By afternoon the swelling had set in.
She didn’t elaborate. Both boys were clearly pushing through the pain. Hearing her dismissal, they stood up heads bowed in shame, and shuffled out.
Once they were gone, Liana said calmly. “Let’s begin.”
All eyes had been on the two departing figures. Hearing “begin.” they instinctively straightened before limping away with winces, which drew a few muffled Laughs from the class.
One stern look from Liana, however, and silence fell instantly.
Ninth-grade teachers, especially this close to finals, didn’t have much patience for nonsense.
After work that evening. Liana drove back to her small apartment.
Halfway there, she noticed a car tailing her. She couldnt make out the details, but its old-fashioned, boxy style looked like a vehicle from the Forrest family.
She wasn’t sure which Forrest had sent it, but she was certain it was one of them.
Parking at her apartment building, she headed upstairs only to find two figures waiting at her door-one big, one small.
“Mrs. Locke, Mr. Locke has a business dinner tonight. Theo wanted to see you, so he asked me to bring him.”
It was Evan and Theo.
Theo had a scrape on his forehead. It had scabbed ove but it still looked painful.
His expression was pitiful. full of a longing for affection as he gazed at Liana.
