Chapter 153 The Paternity Test
Chapter 153 The Paternity Test
Silas unfolded the document in his hands.
The report stated plainly: after analysis, the probability of a biological match was 99.99999%. /
In other words, Leo was unmistakably Silas’ son.
Silas skimmed the findings and placed the papers on the table.
Madeline spoke up, “Now you see for yourself. Don’t you dare question Felicity again after this.”
Silas replied patiently, “I already told you-”

“Silas,” Felicity interrupted softly, “I’m not upset with you. Blood matters. And with your wife making such a scene, you really didn’t have much choice but to do the DNA test. I get it.”
Silas reached over and gently patted her head.
“You understand me.”
Felicity smiled and leaned slightly into his touch.
“Of course I do. Grandma, maybe go a little easier on Silas from now on. Every time you scold him, it
hurts me too.”
Madeline chuckled and glanced at Victoria. “Look at this-she’s not even married to Silas yet, and she’s already taking his side. What will it be like later? I guess we won’t be able to say a word against him without upsetting Felicity.”
Felicity replied in a playful tone, “Grandma, ‘married… come on…”
She shot Silas a flirtatious look.
“Pretty soon, Silas is going to get tired of us.”
Silas forced a faint smile.
“I won’t.”
Madeline nodded with satisfaction. “This is good. This is what family should feel like. With that woman gone, the Vance household can finally have some peace.”
Silas held back what he really wanted to say.
A restless frustration burned inside him-he wanted to let it out, but he knew he couldn’t.
Maybe he needed to go out tonight.
There was only one person who would listen to everything on his mind, who genuinely cared how he felt without any agenda, who could actually help him unwind.

Victoria seized the moment to push further. “Silas, now that Leo’s back with us, shouldn’t you finalize the divorce from that woman?”
Madeline agreed, “Yes, you really should. I hear there’s a mandatory waiting period for divorces these days. so better to start sooner rather than later. Dragging it out only complicates things.”
Victoria added, “Why do they even have a cooling-off period? It just prolongs everything. I can’t wait to see that divorce finalized. I’m already looking forward to planning Felicity’s wedding.”
The atmosphere around the dinner table was warm and lively-or at least, it seemed that way.
Only Silas knew how miserable he truly felt.
In the past, they would sit around like this and list all of Jasmine’s faults right in front of him.
He would just listen quietly and never argue back.
But now, hearing it all again, why did it bother him so much?
They were clearly criticizing that woman, yet somehow it felt like they were criticizing him.
Silas finished his meal without really tasting anything.
After setting down his fork, he went into the nursery to hold Leo.
He didn’t turn when he heard footsteps behind him-he knew Felicity would follow.
Ever since they had rekindled their physical relationship, Felicity had started acting as if Silas were already
her husband.
She walked in, wrapped her arms around him from behind, and pressed close.
“Silas, is something bothering you?”
Silas glanced toward Linda, the nanny. Taking the hint, she gently picked up the baby and left the room.
Silas pulled Felicity’s hands away and turned to face her.
“There’s something I need to ask you.”
Felicity wrapped her hands around his waist again. “Yeah? What is it?”
Silas suddenly felt a flicker of irritation at how clingy she was being.
“That day in the car-why did I suddenly lose control like that?”
Felicity stiffened almost imperceptibly.
“That… how would I know? I’m not a guy.”
Silas took her hands down and looked her straight in the eye.

“Felicity, you’re not a good liar. Tell me the truth.”
Felicity bit her lip. “I’m afraid to say.”
Silas pressed, “Did Grandma put you up to this?”
Felicity hesitated for a long moment.

“Grandma put something in the pastries. Something… to stir you up. But… I really didn’t know beforehand. I only found out after…”
Silas frowned and fell silent for what felt like a long time.
Felicity asked timidly, “Silas, are you mad at me?”
