Chapter 154 A Father’s Assurance
A faint smile touched Felicity’s lips. “Keep treating me like this, and you’ll spoil me completely.”
But the moment Silas walked out, her smile vanished.
She locked the door right away and called Theodore.

“Dad, Silas has seen the test results. That woman is officially out of the Vance family now. No one should ever bring this up again.”
Theodore’s voice carried the confidence of someone holding all the cards. “Don’t worry, sweetheart. As long as your old man’s here, nothing will go wrong. You’ll be walking down the aisle with Silas before you know it.”
Felicity still felt uneasy. “But Silas has been in a terrible mood these past few days. What if he changes his mind and calls off the wedding?”
Theodore replied calmly, “With Madeline in the picture, he wouldn’t dare.”
That only made Felicity uncomfortable. “It makes it sound like he’s being forced into this marriage.”
What she really wanted was for Silas to marry her because he loved her-not out of obligation.
Theodore chuckled softly. “Sweetie, sometimes it’s the result that matters, not how you get there. Once you’re the Vance family’s daughter-in-law and Silas controls all the assets, you’ll have all the freedom you could want in that household.”
But Felicity shook her head, even though her father couldn’t see it. “I don’t care about having my way in that house. I just want Silas to love me and spend his life with me.”
“Oh, my girl,” Theodore sighed affectionately.
Felicity pouted into the phone. “Why do you say it like that? That’s honestly all I want.”
“Alright, alright, you’re not being silly,” Theodore conceded warmly. “My daughter is the smartest one I
know.”
She shifted the subject. “Oh, Dad, about the other day… Silas actually brought up what we did. I didn’t think he’d noticed, but out of nowhere, he asked me about it. It really startled me.”
Theodore’s tone grew alert. “What did you tell him?”
“Just what you said-I put it on Grandma. Good thing we gave her a heads-up beforehand.”
A sly, knowing laugh came from the other end. “I’m surprised Madeline played along so easily.”
Felicity thought it was straightforward. “Well, Grandma wants us married as soon as possible anyway.”
As soon as the villa gate closed behind him, Silas felt like he could finally breathe.

Chapter 154 A Father’s Assurance
Marcus was already waiting outside with the car.
“Heading to see Ms. Monroe, Mr. Vance?”
Silas nodded, sliding into the back seat. “Yes.”
“Will you be coming back tonight? If so, I can wait for you.”
“Just drop me off and go home. Pick me up in the morning.”
Marcus didn’t press further. With matters like this, it was better not to ask too many questions.
When Vivienne saw Silas again, she could tell something was off.

He had been coming to the club more often over the last few days—and each time, his mood seemed heavier.
Silas sat in the private room for nearly twenty minutes without saying a word, just slowly working through
his drink.
When he stayed quiet, Vivienne simply sat with him, not pushing.
After finishing the last sip in his glass, Silas finally turned to look at her.
“Don’t you have any questions for me?”
Vivienne offered a soft smile. “If you wanted me to know, you’d tell me. And if I asked, whatever you told me might not even be the whole truth.”
Silas patted his thigh. “Come here.”
She settled onto his lap, resting one hand lightly on his shoulder. “You’ve been visiting me a lot lately.”
Silas leaned his head against her chest, weariness showing in his posture. “Isn’t it a good thing, seeing you more?”
“Not really,” she said quietly.
“Why not?”
“The more you come, the more it feels like you’re carrying something heavy. Besides… you shouldn’t spend too much time in places like this.”
A faint, half-formed smile appeared on Silas’ lips. He reached up and tapped her cheek lightly. “If I didn’t come here, how would I have ever met you?”
Vivienne covered his hand with her own. “Something’s bothering you.”
“Oh?”
“It seems like Madeline is already pushing you to finalize the divorce and marry Ms. Sterling.”
