Chapter 230 You Can’t Have It All
Jasmine didn’t mind.
“Perfect. Now we’ve got someone to carry the bags.”
Sierra linked arms with her, smiling.
“My thoughts exactly. Let’s go!”
They hadn’t been shopping long before Caleb’s hands were loaded with shopping bags.

“Hey, Sierra, it’s only been twenty minutes and you’ve bought half the store. You planning on buying out the whole mall or what?”
Sierra took a sip of her iced coffee, looking entirely too pleased.
“I’ve got the money. I’ll buy what I want.”
Caleb nudged Jasmine. “Look at her-hasn’t bought a thing yet. So sensible.”
Jasmine smirked.
“I’m broke.”
Caleb leaned toward her and raised an eyebrow playfully.
“Hey, if you want something, just tell me. I’ll get it for you.”
Sierra cut in, “I want something too.”
Caleb shot her a look. “Get lost.”
Sierra fake-gasped. “Wow, ditching me right in front of my face? Who’s the one who said we should keep up the fake-couple act in public?”
Caleb’s grin widened.
“Not in front of Jasmine, alright? Stop flirting with me.”
Sierra nearly tossed her coffee at him.
Jasmine stood between them, caught between laughter and exasperation.
But honestly, it was nice. This kind of lighthearted bickering made everything feel normal, even good.
As they passed a men’s boutique, Caleb suddenly remembered something.
“Oh, almost forgot. Ethan’s birthday is coming up. I need to pick something up for him.”
Jasmine paused slightly, wanting to ask, but Sierra spoke first.
“When’s Mr. Brooks’ birthday?”

“Seventh of next month,” Caleb replied.
“Gotta contact that premium tailor soon. I’m thinking of getting him a custom suit.”
Sierra, who rarely praised anyone, nodded slowly.
“You’re really loyal to him, huh?”

Caleb’s tone turned a bit more serious. “People are complicated these days. A friend you can actually talk to is rare. Gotta cherish that.”
Then he glanced at Sierra and Jasmine.
“What are you two getting him?”
Sierra kept it practical.
“Cash. Always works.”
Caleb looked at Jasmine. “How about you?”
She offered an awkward smile.
“With my budget right now, I doubt I can afford anything fancy.”
Caleb smiled knowingly.
“Don’t worry. Even if you gave him a weed from the sidewalk, Ethan would probably put it in a vase on his desk.”
As he said it, he threw a meaningful glance toward Sierra.
She caught the look and, irritated, made a move like she was going to splash her coffee at him.
Caleb yelped and dodged away.
But only moments later, Sierra came to an abrupt stop, her face twisting in displeasure at the figure approaching them.
Jasmine spotted her too.
They said the name in unison.
“Caleb!”
“Caleb!”
Too late-Caleb, not looking behind him, backed right into the person.
Chloe stumbled, nearly falling over.
