Chapter 237 The Ideal Type
“Tired?”
Jasmine recalled Ethan’s earlier reply.
“So you really did have feelings for someone back then?”
She still found it a little hard to believe.
This was Ethan, after all. Why would he ever need to pine after anyone?
Ethan offered a faint smile. “Yeah, it’s true.”
“And it really wasn’t Ms. Wilde?”
“No. This was before her.”
Jasmine’s curiosity was officially sparked.
“Then why didn’t you go for it?”
“Maybe it’s just how I’m wired. I don’t like going into a fight I’m not sure I can win.”
Jasmine chuckled. “You apply that to relationships too?”
“For me,” Ethan said lightly, “it’s pretty much the same principle.”
“I see.”

“By the time I worked up the nerve to make a move…” Ethan glanced down, a soft laugh hiding whatever he felt. “She’d already fallen for someone else.”
Jasmine looked at him with sympathy.
“What happened after that?”
“After that?”
“Yeah. Did you two ever see each other again?”
Ethan’s calm gaze lingered on his own well-defined, gentle features.
“We’re friends now.”
“Really? Then I’d love to meet the woman who caught Mr. Brooks’ eye.”
Ethan’s expression shifted briefly before he curved his lips.
“I’ll introduce you someday.”

A full minute passed, but the couple kissing showed no signs of stopping.
Jasmine didn’t know whether to laugh or look away.
“Those two…”
“Leave them be. They’re adults-they know what they’re doing.”
“But… I think Sierra might be…”
If the first time was her imagination, what about this second time? Was she imagining that too?
Ethan took a slow sip of merlot.
“What’s on your mind about Sierra?”
Jasmine pulled her attention back and shook her head.
“Nothing.”
Some things were better left unsaid. Maybe she was just reading too much into it.
The heated kiss finally broke.
When they parted, Sierra was still catching her breath.
Caleb cocked an eyebrow at her, looking thoroughly pleased.
“Tasted good. Next chance I get, I won’t pass it up either.”
Sierra grabbed his hand and bit down-hard.
“You jerk! You even used tongue!”

Caleb was in too good a mood to get mad. He leaned close to her ear, his voice dropping to a murmur.
“We’re together now. You think a kiss is just lips brushing? Where’s the fun in that?”
Sierra’s ears flushed bright red.
What the hell was this guy even saying!
Total jerk! Insensitive ass! Bastard!
Caleb could practically hear her mentally cursing him out.
“Come on, we’re not kids. Why act like some shy virgin? You’ve dated plenty-don’t tell me you never French kissed any of them.”
But even as he said it, Caleb wasn’t completely convinced.

Chapter 237 The Ideal Type
From what he could tell, Sierra’s kissing was pretty unpolished.
Clumsy, even. All force, no finesse.
Could it really be that….
He brushed the thought aside.
No way.
This girl had been around. She knew the scene.
The vibe around the table stayed lively, but Sierra’s smile didn’t reach her eyes anymore.
Every time the game landed on her, she chose to drink.
After a few rounds, she wasn’t drunk, but her guard was definitely down.
