How to Train Your Ex-Billionaire novel Chapter 170

He thought that just being able to catch a glimpse of her from time to time would be enough.

He installed a security camera by his door, pointed towards the elevator.

Every day, after Winifred left her apartment and got into the elevator, he would follow a moment later in the next one, tailing her all the way to the hospital.

When she finished work, he would wait discreetly at the hospital entrance until she came out, then follow her all the way home.

He even bought a telescope to watch her secretly. He just hadn't expected her to spot the lens last night.

Thankfully, she hadn't seen him.

Afraid that Winifred would be scared, he had specifically called Fitch over to apologize and put her at ease.

Yvan didn't know how long he could keep this up. But he couldn't stop, and he found a strange pleasure in it.

Two days later, Winifred decided to take the gift box over to Fitch.

But it wasn't until eight o'clock that the light in the bedroom next door finally came on.

Winifred figured Fitch was home and took the gift box to his door to knock.

To her surprise, no one answered after several knocks.

Winifred found it odd, since the light was clearly on. Not wanting to keep knocking, she decided to go back to her apartment.

About half an hour later, someone knocked on her door. Winifred looked through the peephole and saw it was Fitch from next door.

She opened the door.

Fitch said, “Ms. Spencer, I’m sorry, was that you knocking just now? I was in the shower and couldn't get to the door in time.”

“Yes, I wanted to give you something.” Winifred quickly turned around, brought back the two boxes of Zion specialties, and handed them to him. “These are some local treats my family sent from Zion. Please take them and try them. I'm sorry about the other day. I… I shouldn't have been so suspicious of you.”

Did an employee have the right to refuse his boss?

No!

So Fitch had rushed over in a taxi. Unfortunately, he got stuck in traffic just as he was approaching the complex, and the car barely moved.

Yvan called again to hurry him along, so he had no choice but to get out and run the rest of the way, which was why he was drenched in sweat.

As soon as he arrived, Yvan gave him a quick rundown of the situation and sent him over to Winifred’s, not even giving him a chance to have a sip of water.

What kind of mess was this?

Mr. Brown usually seemed so decisive and efficient, such a cool and aloof person. Who would have thought he could be so pathetic when it came to a woman?

He didn't even see what was so special about Winifred.

Despite his complaints, Fitch didn't dare show the slightest hint of dissatisfaction in front of Yvan. He wiped his sweat again, trying to look less disheveled, before opening the door and going inside.
