How to Train Your Ex-Billionaire novel Chapter 179

At that moment, Yvan was sitting alone at his dining table, eating the two dishes he had cooked himself.

One was scrambled eggs with tomatoes, the other was steamed fish.

Neither dish was complicated, but his cooking still wasn’t very good.

But he firmly believed that with practice, his cooking would improve. Just like with his tomato pasta.

He still held onto the fantasy that one day, he might have the chance to cook for Winifred. He wanted her to see that he had changed.

He was willing to change for her.

Just then, there was a sudden knock on the door.

Yvan’s heart skipped a beat. He quickly checked the security feed and saw Winifred standing at his door, holding several food containers.

Was she bringing him something?

Yvan froze for a second, then immediately called Fitch. “Fitch, get over here right now. Winifred is knocking on my door again.”

Fitch really wanted to curse, but he could only do it internally. Outwardly, he was completely obedient.

He sprinted to Summit View and reported to Yvan first.

Yvan quickly explained the situation and handed him a phone. “Try to add her on WhatsApp. Say it’s for convenience.”

Fitch took the phone, agreed, then went to knock on Winifred’s door.

Winifred had just knocked on her neighbor’s door with no answer. Now, hearing a knock on her own door, she figured it must be Fitch. She opened it, and sure enough, it was him.

“Ms. Spencer, was that you knocking on my door just now?” Fitch asked.

“Yes, it was. Were you in the shower again?” Winifred laughed.

“Haha, I was in the bathroom,” Fitch said, scratching his head awkwardly. “Did you need me for something, Ms. Spencer?”

“Well,” Winifred turned to grab the food containers. “I just cooked, and I made a bit too much. Have you had dinner yet? If not, you can have this.”

Yvan looked at the food, then at Fitch’s beaming face, and suddenly asked suspiciously, “Was she giving this to me, or to you?”

Fitch froze, the smile on his face stiffening instantly.

“First a gift, now food. She hasn’t taken a liking to you, has she?” Yvan’s gaze turned cold.

Fitch swallowed hard. “Ha, haha, you have a great sense of humor, Mr. Brown. With a gem like you right here, how could Ms. Spencer possibly… be interested in me?”

The argument was obviously unconvincing, since Winifred had no idea Yvan was living next door.

But Winifred being interested in him?

Fitch said frantically, “Mr. Brown, there’s absolutely no way Ms. Spencer is interested in me. Please don’t aim at the wrong target. That guy from last night is your real competition.”

Yvan snorted. “I doubt she’d be interested in you anyway. She wouldn't be into a younger guy.”

“Of course not,” Fitch said with a placating smile. “A woman like Ms. Spencer would clearly prefer a mature, steady man like you, Mr. Brown.”
