Chapter 100 The Top–Grade Emerald
Lira’s POV:
Finished
There was a sharp hissing sound. The rough stone split right down the middle–inside was just plain rock, not a single speck of emerald.
Daphne sneered and said, “See that? Stone gambling ain’t just about luck. But it’s cool–Kael won’t even bat an eye.”
I didn’t pay her sarcasm any mind. I stayed calm and kept my eyes glued to the screen.
Then, someone downstairs suddenly shouted, “Green! There’s green in there!”
“Yeah! Looks like waxy jadeite!”
The stone cutter sprinkled water on the exposed emerald. A bright, vivid green popped right out at everyone–smooth texture, so pretty.
“Waxy jadeite! It’s waxy jadeite–the highest grade of emerald!” The cutter’s hands shook with excitement as he held the stone.
The whole hall went dead silent. Everyone held their breath, staring at the half–cut emerald stone.
The cutter took his time, carefully polishing the rest of the stone.
“So gorgeous! This top–grade emerald is super hard to find!”
“Yeah, we’re lucky to see something like this today!”
“Waxy jadeite is totally top–shelf–worth a ton of money.”
“Wonder who bought it? Bet they won’t sell it, though.”
I watched the emerald get uncovered little by little on the screen. Especially after being soaked in water, that bright green was breathtaking!
“Lira, you’re crazy! How’d you know that stone had top–grade emerald inside?” Vincent looked at me, all excited and impressed.
I gave a quick, playful smirk and made up an excuse. “Just got lucky, I guess.”
Kael looked at me too, his deep eyes full of warmth. He ruffled my hair and said in his low, soft voice, “Hope your luck’s always this good.”
“Yeah, Ms. Krom’s just an Omega, but man, she’s got some luck!” Daphne said through gritted teeth.
She stared at that emerald, her eyes practically oozing jealousy and hatred.
I didn’t care about her passive–aggressive garbage. I gave a small smile and said, “Thanks for the compliment, Ms. Coley.”

Chapter 100 The Top–Grade Emerald
Finished
A minute later, the entire emerald from stone number 8 was fully uncovered. The room went quiet again.
A top–grade emerald the size of a basketball sat right out in front of everyone.
A worker walked in, bowed respectfully to Kael, and asked, “Your Majesty, do you want to keep this emerald or put it back up for auction?”
Kael turned to me. “Let’s keep it. It’s hard to come by. Should I get you a full set of jewelry made from it?”
I nodded gently. “Sure thing.”
