Chapter 101 Settling the Score

Lira’s POV:

The car slowed to a stop. Kael held my hand and helped me out.

When Edward and Manuel saw me, they were stunned.

“It’s really you!”

“You… you’re alive?”

Watching them stutter like that from shock, I smirked and said, “Long time no see.”

Edward was an Alpha from the Fragrance Pack, after all. He got his composure back fast.

“Lira, you’re actually okay?” he asked, all worried. He didn’t even bat an eye at my sarcastic tone.

I scoffed, “Yeah, your wife and granddaughter didn’t kill me. Guess I got lucky.”

Edward and Manuel turned bright red right away, like they wanted to disappear into the floor.

Bet they knew Cheryl and Krista did this. But no matter how hard they tried to distance themselves, those women were Edward’s family. They couldn’t wiggle out of this.

“Lira, I’m so sorry. I never thought Krista would do something this bad. I know sorry ain’t enough for what you went through, but please–spare the Golder family. We’ll do whatever you ask,” Manuel begged, his face all sad.

“I know we’re in the wrong. You helped heal my uncle and my brother–we should be thanking you like crazy. But who’d have thought our family would almost get you killed.”

Edward jumped in, his voice almost begging. “Yeah, Lira. Can you spare those two for my sake? I’ll owe you big time. I’ll fix this, I swear.”

I looked at the old man in front of me–he had none of the pride or power of an Alpha. He’d humbled himself this much for his family. It was kinda sad, to be honest.

But the second I thought about what those two did to me, I wanted to let Victoria take over and tear them apart!

No way I’d forgive them that easily–let alone let them off the hook.

“Mr. Golder, go home. I need time to think. And don’t push me, please.

“You know how cruel they were to me. Asking me to let ‘em off‘ easily? Sorry, that’s not gonna happen.”

After I said that, I turned around and walked to the villa. I didn’t even look back.

After getting betrayed and almost killed at the Brookstone Pack, plus training to be the Hidmoon Pack’s Alpha heir, I didn’t have that much kindness left.

I didn’t sleep a single wink all night.

The next morning, Kael and I were eating breakfast in the dining room when Manuel showed up. He was begging for forgiveness.

Once I found out Kael had already messed those two up good, I thought about it for a long time. In the end, I agreed to let Krista and Cheryl go.

When I saw them in the basement–all beat up and messy–I felt a little better.

As the Lycan King, Kael was always ruthless. Krista and Cheryl had been tortured real bad–almost dead.

What happened to them after that was the Golder family’s problem.

Manuel handed me a folder. “My grandpa told me to give you this. It’s compensation.”

I took the folder. When I saw it was a transfer paper. I couldn’t believe it–Edward was giving me a hospital, and I could pick where to build it.
