Chapter 117 Unexpected Visit
Lira’s POV:
When I heard Kael’s familiar voice, my mood got better out of the blue.

I raised an eyebrow, smiling and teasing him, “How could I? Your Majesty, I’m so honored you took time out of your busy schedule to call a low–rank Omega like me.”
Kael let out a few more deep laughs and then said, “Why do I feel like you’re being sassy? Did you miss me?”
My heart skipped a beat. I shot back right away, “Who missed you? Are you out of your mind?”
Kael didn’t get mad. He just laughed softly. “Yeah, I’m out of my mind. Whatever you say, Lira, you’re right.”
My cheeks got hot for no reason.
Kael’s voice turned playful. “Lira, come downstairs. I’m waiting for you.”
Then he hung up the phone right away.
I stared at my phone, stunned for a minute. I checked the call log over and over again.
It wasn’t until I took a sniff, and Victoria confirmed his faint scent, that I knew I wasn’t dreaming. I jumped up, grabbed my coat from the sofa, and ran downstairs as fast as I could.
In the sun, Kael leaned against his car with his hands in his pockets. Sunglasses covered half his face, but you could still tell how handsome he was.
At the same time, his aura as the Lycan King was so strong that no one could ignore it. Passersby didn’t know who he was, but they couldn’t help staring at him.
The second I ran out of the building, he saw me.
His gaze on me was soft and loving, making my heart flutter a little.
I ran up to him, trying to act calm. “When did you get back to Silverwhip Pack?”
Kael didn’t answer. Instead, he opened his arms and pulled me tight into his hug. He whispered in my ear, “Lira, I missed you.”
His words made a smile pop up on my face.
It was freezing outside in winter, but his hug was so warm.

After we got in his car, Gary–who was sitting in the front passenger seat–quietly raised the partition. He gave us some private space.
I sat beside him, resting my chin on my arm, and teased him, “I thought you only showed up like a hero when I’m in trouble. A busy guy like you is never around otherwise.”
Kael stared at me, a smile in his eyes. He reached out and flicked my nose gently. “You ungrateful thing. I work this hard, trying to be a good Lycan King–all so you can live without a care in the world.”
I teased him on purpose, “Okay, then I’ll go around bragging that I know the Lycan King.”
Kael looked at me, smiling helplessly. He grabbed a box from the side and handed it to me. “Look at this. Do you like it?”
I looked at the box in confusion, then took it. I didn’t recognize the logo on it. When I opened it, there was a white, shimmery watch inside. Diamonds lined the dial, making the whole watch shine bright.
I picked up the watch, confused. “For me?”
Kael took the watch from my hand and put it on my wrist gently. “The second I saw it, I thought it’d look perfect on you. So I bought it.”
I looked at the watch on my wrist, surprised at how well it suited me. I had to admit, this guy had great taste. It was a low–key style, but it still looked fancy.
“You gonna get into showbiz?” Kael stared at me and suddenly asked.
