Chapter 13 An Unexpected Turn
Destiny: Alpha Lira’s Legend
Chapter 14 The Man Named Kael
Lira’s POV:
The sudden grab shocked me!
My body went tight. I was about to call on Victoria’s power to fight back, but the man was faster.

He twisted my wrist behind my back. A strong force pushed me down. Warm breath brushed my ear. A tingling feeling spread from the curve of my ear down my neck.
“Let go!”
I struggled, but his grip was like iron. My voice came out cold. “If you’re so brave, fight me fair. This sneaky move is cheap.”
A low laugh sounded by my ear. His voice was deep, with a teasing edge. “You really are a feisty little thing.”
The pressure on my arm eased. I spun around and threw a punch. He caught my wrist easily.
A familiar scent hit me. I looked up and met a pair of deep eyes.
His face was like a work of art–all sharp angles and stunning looks. A faint smile played on his lips. He looked at me with pure amusement.
It was him. The badly injured man I’d saved in the forest. At the edge of the Hidmoon Pack territory.
I froze. A glint of something playful flashed in his eyes.
His fingertips brushed over the skin of my wrist. A clear, unique scent wrapped around me. It made Victoria stir with a strange excitement.
Earlier, when I’d tried to use her strength against him, she had hesitated. It confused me. Annoyed me.
But I had no time to ask her about it now. The man’s face was inches from mine.
His warm breath made my skin prickle.
I jerked back, putting space between us. I pressed a hand hard against his chest. “What do you want?” I snapped.
How did he find me?
And why grab me like this?
The corners of his eyes crinkled with his smile. That deep, magnetic, lazy voice spoke by my ear. “Little one, I’m here to return the favor.
“How about marrying me as payment?”
My whole body went stiff. I scrambled back toward the car door, putting as much distance between us as I could.

Chapter 14 The Man Named Kael
Finished
I should have known. This man had “dangerous” written all over him from the start. I never should have gotten involved. Never should have saved him.
But as a member of the Hidmoon Pack… saving him was my duty.
I let out a frustrated sigh.
I wrapped my arms around myself and kept backing up until I was pressed against the door. Nowhere else
to go.
Watching my defensive little moves, he suddenly chuckled. The chuckle grew into a real laugh–deep, hearty, and full of genuine amusement.
The driver up front seemed to flinch at the sound. The car gave a tiny jolt.
Clearly, he’d never heard his boss laugh like that before.
Victoria showed no desire to fight him. Lily was long gone, scared into hiding by his aura.
Trapped, I just glared at him. Then I turned my head and stared silently out the window, ignoring him.
The car drove on. It finally stopped in front of a villa by the sea.
I pushed the door open and jumped out. I looked at the huge, standalone house in front of me, the endless ocean behind it. I checked my surroundings and breathed in the air. I wasn’t in the Silverwhip Pack
anymore.
I was looking for a way to run when the man got out behind me.
He led me inside the villa.
A high–ranking werewolf who looked like a butler saw me. His eyes went wide. He was clearly stunned.
Once inside, I decided to be “impolite” on purpose. I walked right to the center of the large sofa and sat down. I frowned at the man standing before me.
“You dragged me here for no reason. What do you actually want?”
He didn’t answer right away. His deep gaze held mine for a long moment. Then he spoke, his voice soft.
“My name is Kael Thorne. You seem to have been looking for me?”

Lira’s POV:
Finishec
After a short rest at Serena’s place, she drove me straight to the southeast edge of the Silverwhip Pack.
The area was still being developed. It looked a bit empty and rough around the edges. But I knew the truth. In a few years, this would be the busiest, richest part of town.
That’s why, long before I left the Hidmoon Pack, I’d told Serena to secure the land here. To register a
company.
We got out of the car. Four sleek skyscrapers shot up into the sky, standing tall in the mostly–empty zone.
On the top floor of one, the logo “Four Seasons Group” shone brightly.
This was the foundation I was building. A future for my pack. It would cover medicine and healthcare. It would raise money to help more strays. It would let us heal more people, just like we were meant to do.
We walked inside. The place was decorated in a sharp, modern style. Black and white. Simple. Polished marble floors reflected the light. Unique hanging lamps gave off a professional, expensive feel.
Victoria caught the scent in the air too–the familiar smell of Hidmoon Pack werewolves.
These were the werewolves I’d asked to come. The ones with a talent for medicine and research.
Serena had settled them in well.
I gave her a grateful look.
She looked back, suddenly nervous. “Well? What do you think?”
“This building is perfect. It’s the ideal headquarters for Four Seasons,” I said.
“You did an amazing job.” My praise was genuine.
The tension melted from her face. She grinned, excited now. “Once the pharmaceutical factory and the clínic chain are running,” she said as we walked, “the group will really be on its map!”
She gave me the full tour. We ended up on the top floor.
The elevator doors opened. In front of us was an office over 3,200 square feet. The view was huge. The decor was simple but elegant.
“So?” Serena raised an eyebrow. “I kept the whole top floor for you. Your office. A place for you to work and rest when you’re in town.”
A satisfied smile spread across my face. I stepped forward and hugged her. “Everything you choose is the best. Thank you.”
Serena froze for a second. Then she reached up and ruffled my hair gently. “Lira, since when did you get so soft? You saved my life. Doing this for you… it’s what I want to do. It’s nothing.”
