Howl of Destiny: Alpha Lira’s Legend
Chapter 156 Rumors and Confrontation
Lira Voss’s POV:
Below the text were several photos of me and Michael Brewer by the football field.
The way Michael looked at me in those shots-so tender and soft-was definitely catnip for gossip.
The comments section was a total bloodbath, with everyone trashing me.
[Are you kidding me? Michael Brewer is actually dating a low-rank Omega like Lira Voss?!]
[No way. Look at Michael’s status. Some people are just desperate social climbers, trying to act like they belong in the elite.]
[Honestly, Seraphina Prince and Michael are the real power couple.]
The forum was practically on fire as the comments kept rolling in.
I scrolled through them with a blank expression before closing the tab.
Sally looked at me, her eyes wide with anxiety. “How can you be so calm? They’re shredding you. Shouldn’t we take these down?”
I just shrugged, completely unbothered. “Wise wolves don’t chase shadows. Explaining just makes it messier. People will see the truth eventually, so why waste the energy?”
Sally nodded slowly, her expression drifting into deep thought.
By that evening, Sally told me the thread had mysteriously vanished.
I didn’t give it a second thought and went back to my own business.
A few days later, the School Anniversary finally arrived, much to everyone’s excitement.
The entire campus was buzzing with that restless, youthful energy.
During lunch, Laura was practically vibrating as she dumped the latest tea on me.
“Lira, did you hear? A delegation of top-tier noble werewolves from the Maynard Continent is coming! Even the Silverwhip Pack’s inner circle will be there!”
I just gave a dry hum, showing zero interest.
Laura stared at me like I had two heads. “Do you even care about anything?”
“What’s there to care about?” I asked flatly. “It’s just a party. I’m not performing, so that’s your problem, not
mine.”
Laura opened her mouth to argue, but the words died in her throat.

Suddenly, a shrill, nasty voice cut through the air from nearby.
“Not performing, Lira? Or are you just scared of losing your crown?”
I looked up coldly to see Chloe Taylor and Seraphina Prince walking over, flanked by two other girls, Bella

Laura; she kept her eyes on me, her sneer deepening. “Grades only get you so far. you’re just a low-rank Omega. Your blood doesn’t even compare to ours. You don’t Queen, do you, Lira?”

ted by Laura’s raw aggression, Chloe reluctantly reeled in her anger.

“I get it. You’re a low-rank Omega, so your blood isn’t as pure as mine, and I’m not as pretty or smart as you. But shouldn’t a ‘talented’ girl like you want to represent our school?”
Seraphina stepped in then, wearing a mask of self-righteousness. “Lira, if Chloe said something to upset you, I’ll apologize for her. but you can’t talk to her like that. She just wants you to do your part for the academy.”
I saw the shift in the crowd’s eyes; they were looking at the ‘victims’ with sympathy and at me with pure disgust.
I had to hand it to Seraphina; her little performance worked perfectly to blacken my name.
Laura didn’t skip a beat. “God, you bitches are such actresses! You’re the ones who came over here to talk shit, and now Lira’s the villain? Get real.”
I felt my claws twitch in my palms as I stood up and walked slowly toward Seraphina’s group, my gazÉ piercing. “This is your final warning,” I said, my voice dropping to a deadly whisper. “Stop looking for trouble, or I can’t promise I’ll stay this ‘polite’ next time.”
