Chapter 162 Kael’s Wrath
After Lira left the room, a hideously scarred old man stepped out from behind a screen. His voice was a raspy, sickening crawl. “She’s quite the prize, isn’t she? So young… I’d love a taste, even if she is just an Omega. Too bad she’s not fit for breeding.”
Leroy Trotter picked up his glass and took a slow sip, his tone dropping to a lethal chill. “Granduncle Silas. she’s useful to me right now. If you lay a finger on her and ruin my plan, we’re done. I’ll end you.”
The old man gave a dry, wheezing chuckle. “She’s just a girl who can find rocks. You’re being too soft, Leroy. If I were you, I’d just break her until she does what she’s told.”
“That’s none of your concern,” Leroy snapped. “We move out tomorrow. I’m going to bed.” He stood up and walked straight to his bedroom.
Meanwhile, back in the Silverwhip Pack, Sally was a total wreck. Lira had been gone for a full day, and she felt like her world was ending.
She’d spent the whole day searching until she finally spotted Chloe Taylor at the school gates. Sally didn’t hesitate; she lunged forward and delivered a stinging slap across Chloe’s face.
“You b*tch! What the hell did you do to me and Virginia yesterday?!”
Chloe was stunned, her cheek burning from the impact. But the thought that Lira was finally gone made her more gleeful than angry. She just smirked. “What are you talking about? I have no idea. We had an argument yesterday, and then I left. That’s it.”
“Yeah, you must have the wrong person,” Seraphina Prince added smoothly from beside her. “Chloe was shopping with me all day yesterday.”
Sally let out a harsh laugh. “Keep lying! Go ahead! We were mid-fight, so how the hell did Virginia and I both black out? You’re telling me that’s a coincidence? Bullshit! Tell me what you did!”
“What do you want me to say? We were both so angry we lost our heads. Maybe your memory is just fuzzy,” Chloe said, digging in her heels.
“Lost our heads? Are you kidding me? You drugged us! You drugged us and let those people take us! “You’re in on it with them, aren’t you? You helped them kidnap me so they could use me to get to Lira. Isn’t that it?” Sally’s wolf-eyes blazed as she roared at Chloe.
She was 100% certain Chloe was the link. It was too perfect.
Watching Sally spiral only made Chloe feel better. She’d been approached by those men and had jumped at the chance to get rid of Lira. Seeing that Lira hadn’t shown up for school today, she figured the low-rank Omega was as good as dead.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about, Sally,” Chloe lied, her voice dripping with mock innocence. Lira probably just took a sick day. I’ve got things to do. Bye”
You- Sally extended her claws, ready to rip into Chloe, but Chloe caught her wrist
Chloe looked at the fuming Sally with a sneer. “What, you want to slap me again? Lira’s disappearance has

TI let that first slap slide because you’re upset, but don’t push your luck”
She shoved Sally’s arm away and turned to leave with a smug grin.
But as she turned, a massive shadow loomed over her. A man stood there, radiating a bone-chilling pressure that made the air feel heavy. Say that again, he commanded, his voice like grinding stone. “What happened to Lira
Chloe froze, her body trembling uncontrollably. Her inner wolf was whimpering in primal terror at the man before her
Seraphina stared at the impossibly handsome man. She’d never seen anyone so powerful and breathtakingly beautiful in her life. Her heart hammered against her ribs as she tried to hide her reaction.
She immediately put on a pained, fragile expression. “Sir, Sally is just accusing us blindly. She’s claiming Lira is missing and that it’s Chloe’s fault. It’s just a school drama.”
Kael Thorne didn’t even look at Seraphina. He turned to Sally, his voice low. “You. Tell me exactly what happened”
Sally looked at the man. She didn’t know who he was or what he wanted, but his presence was so overwhelming she felt he might actually be able to find Lira. She told him everything, from start to finish. The moment she finished, Chloe scrambled to deny it. “She’s lying! I don’t know anything!”
She saw the man’s brows knit together, his entire aura turning murderous. She felt a cold shiver run down her spine.
Kael’s eyes were like ice as he looked at Chloe. He spoke with the absolute, unquestionable authority of an Alpha King, “Talk! Tell me everything. Any lie will send yourself to living hell!”
