Howl of Destiny: Alpha Lira's Legend novel Chapter 163

Chapter 163 The Hidden Vein

Chloe’s whole body convulsed with fear. “I… I… I don’t know what you’re talking about! I don’t know anything!”

Her smugness had evaporated, replaced by pure, blinding regret.

But she couldn’t talk. She was terrified that if she did, this man would shift and tear her apart on the spot.

Seraphina’s eyes were red as she spoke in a soft, trembling voice, “Sir, Chloe really doesn’t know. Lira is always hanging around Michael Brewer. Maybe some other girl got jealous and snatched her. Every girl in school wants Michael.”

She was trying to paint Lira as a slut, but she’d picked the wrong audience for her games.

Kael didn’t give her a second of his time. “Gary, get her out of here. Treat her well until she finds her tongue.”

Chloe fainted on the spot. Gary, the Beta, stepped forward and hauled her away like a sack of garbage.

Seraphina watched the scene, her eyes burning with jealousy. She dug her claws deep into her own palms.

She didn’t need to guess-this powerful, elite man was here for Lira Voss.

He had an aura even stronger than her father’s; just standing near him made her wolf-spirit cower in submission.

She couldn’t understand why a low-rank Omega like Lira had such incredible men fighting for her.

The hatred she felt for Lira Voss only intensified.

Lira Voss’s POV:

I had no idea if Sally was trying to find me.

As long as she and Virginia were safe at home, I was okay with it.

Right now, I was deep in the northern mountains of the Graymarch Pack with Leroy Trotter.

Our SUV cut through the jungle until we reached a small, remote village.

Leroy’s team piled out of the cars as soon as we arrived.

A woman in red walked up to us, her fitted suit showing off a lethal, athletic build.

She smelled like a seasoned assassin, Lily was on high alert, but Victoria didn’t seem interested.

The woman walked up to Leroy, shot me a quick, suspicious look, and then bowed. “Alpha, everything is ready. We can head in whenever you like..“

Leroy nodded. “Let’s go then.”

Chapter 162 The Hidden Vein

He led our group into a thick stretch of forest

We hiked for nearly two hours through rugged terrain before stopping in front of a cave

The path was a nightmare-nothing but ancient trees and tangled brush. Without a guide, you’d be lost in minutes.

We followed the cave tunnel inward. It was clearly an excavation site; the walls were scarred with pickaxe marks, and piles of rock were strewn everywhere.

When we reached the deepest point, Leroy handed me a stone. “Look at this. This is from the deepest layer. Tell me if the surface suggests there are gems further in.”

I took the stone and made a show of examining it.

In reality, I’d already scanned the whole area. With my dual-wolf spirits and the energy I’d absorbed in my dimension, my X-ray vision was sharper than ever. I could see right through the rock.

This vein did have gems, but they were low-grade-hardly worth the effort.

But something was strange. I could feel a massive surge of spiritual energy nearby, which meant there was a top-tier vein somewhere in the vicinity.

I went silent, lost in thought.

“Well?” Leroy asked, his voice echoing in the cave.

I turned the stone over, acting thoughtful. “Based on this, there’s a vein here, but the quality is still unclear. You’ll need to dig much deeper to see anything significant.”

I set the stone down and knelt, touching the dirt on the ground and the cave walls.

No wonder the energy was so strong-there really was a legendary vein here!

It was just buried much deeper than they’d dug. They’d walked right over a goldmine. If I could get my hands on these gems, the Hidmoon Pack wouldn’t have to worry about money for a century.

But how could I steal them without anyone noticing?

I snapped back to reality and looked at Leroy. “Keep digging,” said casually. “It’s there. You just need to go deeper to confirm the grade.”

Leroy’s eyes lit up. “Are you sure? A top-tier vein?”

I gave him a cold smirk. If you don’t believe me, send me back. I have a degree to finish.”

“Watch your mouth! The woman in red snarled, her eyes flashing with a sudden murderous intent. “How dare you speak to our Alpha like that!”
