Chapter 173 Two Years of Waiting
Lira Voss’s POV:
I pressed my cheek to his chest and listened to his heartbeat. “I missed you.”
finished
I felt his whole body go rigid for a second, then he hugged me even tighter. His forehead rested against mine, voice rough. “Do you have any idea how long you were gone? Do you know how scared I was that you wouldn’t wake up?
“The second you came back from Leroy’s place you fell into that coma: I almost took people and wiped out Darknight Pack.”
Tears slid down my face. “I’m sorry I made you wait so long. I won’t do it again.”
He stared at me with those deep eyes. “Lira, don’t ever scare me like that again, okay?”
I nodded. “Okay. I won’t.”
Ever since I woke up I’d basically turned into a giant baby. Kael decided I was a fragile low–rank Omega who needed constant protection. I wasn’t allowed to leave the Silverwhip Pack estate.
Maids had to follow me everywhere. He even tried to feed me himself. Stairs? He acted like I might break. I really wanted to tell him I had two wolf souls and wasn’t nearly as weak as he thought, but I couldn’t yet.
I lounged on the couch and gave him my best pitiful look while he worked on documents. “Kael, when are you actually going to let me out? I’ve been fine for almost two years. I need to check on the company and visit Hidmoon Pack.”
“Don’t worry. Four Seasons Group is doing great. The medical division won a bunch of big awards last
year.
“The investment and entertainment sides are killing it too. Your three top people are basically celebrities now. And you, the mysterious chairwoman, are even more famous. As for Hidmoon Pack, I already told Elder Enid we’ll go once you’re fully recovered.”
I already knew all this because the man had spent two years talking to me every single day while I was unconscious. I couldn’t answer, but I heard every word.
Everything had gone exactly according to the plans I left behind, so none of it surprised me.
I lifted my chin. “Of course they’re doing well. I picked them myself.”
He leaned in and gently tapped the tip of my nose, voice full of affection. “Yeah. You’re the best.
I shoved him back playfully. “Flattery won’t work. I want out. Company, school, everything
His dark eyes locked on mine and a wicked little smile curved his lips. “My girl is so amazing I just want to keep her all to myself. So… two more weeks. Then you can go. Just keep me company a little longer,”
I got lost in those eyes and nodded before I even realized it
