Chapter 191 The Perfect Fit
Lara Voss’s POV:
I chewed my food slowly, took a sip of water, and wiped my mouth before finally looking at Daphnie. A mocking glint danced in my eyes. “Of course I remember you, Miss Coley. Karl’s childhood frien could I forget? Our first meeting was… unforgettable, to say the least.”
I remembered her vividly. Two years ago, she was oozing arrogance and throwing her history with Kaet in my face. Two years later, she looked more refined, more “feminine”, but it didn’t look like her IQ had e up with her fashion sense.
Daphne’s face darkened instantly. A flicker of murderous intent flashed in her wolfish eyes, but she suppressed it behind a strained, sugary smile.
“I remember that day too, Miss Krom. It left quite an impression on me. Now that you’re in the Thunder Pack, we should go shopping together. Us girls have so much to talk about, don’t we?”
I gave her a thin smile. “I’m sorry, Daphne, but I’m still finishing my degree in the Silverwhip Pack. I wouldn’t want you to waste your breath planning a trip I won’t be on.”
Compared to my stepmother and stepsister, Daphne’s ‘nice girl’ act was amateur hour. She looked calm on the surface, but the rage simmering in her eyes was a dead giveaway.
Besides, my twin wolf souls were already growling at the scent of her hostility.
Daphne’s smile twitched, but she didn’t drop the mask. “Well, there’s always time later. But… shouldn’t you be in class right now? What brings you all the way to the Thunder Pack?”
I looked at her, then glanced at Kael, leaning in slightly. “I missed him. I figured I should check in and make sure no little vixens were trying to steal my man while I was away. He’s so damn charming, I have to keep him on a short leash. Wouldn’t you agree, Daphne?”
Daphne’s smile died.
Leo let out a bark of laughter from the side. “Lira, you’re worried about Kael? Please. This guy won’t even look at another woman, let alone talk to one. You’re the only one who occupies his brain. You can sleep easy.”
I arched an eyebrow at Kael. “I know. But with a mate as cute as me, why would he even want to look elsewhere? Right, Kael?”
“Right,” Kael replied, his voice thick with devotion. “I’m completely wrapped around your finger, brat.”
Elias started hooting from across the table. “Oh, god! Get a room! You guys are sickeningly sweet.”
Leo rolled his eyes at them. “Get used to it, Elias. Ever since these two got together, Kael’s been shoving this PDA down my throat. I’m practically immune to it now.”
He waved over a waiter to order more food, ignoring the tension.
I grinned at Leo. “Once you find your fated mate, I won’t mind if you return the favor.”

Leo just laughed, leaning back in his chair.
After lunch Vincent suggested hitting a club, but Kael shot him down immediately. You guys go ahead.
de, and I’m staying with her.
me out of the restaurant and straight to a high-end boutique.
I picked out a gown, disappeared into the dressing room, and stepped out a few minutes later.
Kael dropped his magazine instantly. His dark eyes flared with heat as he took me in. He let out a low. breathy sigh. “My little girl… you’ve finally grown up.”
Hooked at myself in the mirror. My gaze was clearer, carrying a hint of newfound maturity. The long d hugged my curves, making me look taller, and the waistline emphasized a figure I hadn’t realized was so well-developed. I really was changing.
the sales clerk beamed at us. “Miss, your figure is incredible. Most women can’t pull off a cut like that, but you make it look like it was made for a queen.”
I looked at the hem. “Is it too long?” I’d never worn anything this formal before.
Kael stepped up behind me, gently tucking a stray hair behind my shoulder. “No,” he whispered, his eyes meeting mine in the reflection. “It’s perfect. Tomorrow night, you’re going to be the only person anyone
