Chapter 21 The Healer’s Rescue

As the voice spoke, the crowd parted. An elderly man, Robin Marshall, with a strong spirit was helped forward. The powerful aura around him spoke of high status.

“Elder Marshall!” the bodyguard who had blocked me said, immediately saluting.

“Miss, proceed,” Robin said.

With permission, I knelt down. I quickly loosened the collar of the elder on the floor. Using Victoria’s sharp senses, I assessed his condition.

Once I was sure, I pulled a small emergency kit from my bag. Ignoring the staring eyes, I channeled my wolf spirit energy. I placed the defibrillator pads on the elder’s chest and switched the device on to read his heart rhythm.

At the same time, I took out an epinephrine shot. I found the spot on his shoulder and injected it, quick and precise.

The onlookers murmured in shock.

“Her moves are so skilled!”

“She looks ordinary, but her healing is incredible. Is she a true healer werewolf?”

“Look! Elder Cox’s face is easing!”

Steve’s intense, admiring gaze was hard to miss. I had to look up.

When I did, I saw Leslie not far away. Her wolf eyes flashed with pure hate before she smoothed her face back into a gentle mask.

Of course she hated me. I’d ruined her nasty plan.

But I didn’t care. A werewolf of her level was no match for my Victoria.

I gave a soft, disdainful snort.

After a moment, Bruce Cox’s color returned to normal. His breathing steadied and grew strong.

I turned off the defibrillator, removed the pads, and checked his pulse. It was steady. I let out a quiet breath

of relief and put my kit away. The healing energy inside me slowly settled.

The bodyguard in black rushed forward. “How is he? Will Elder Cox be Halright?”

I stood up. “He’ll be fine. The crisis is over.”

He breathed out a huge sigh of relief. He grabbed my hand excitedly. “Thank you! Thank you, Lira! If something had happened to Elder Cox here… we’d all have been at fault.”

Just then, Bruce’s eyes fluttered open.

“He’s awake! Elder Cox is awake!” someone cried out joyfully.

The bodyguard quickly helped Bruce sit up on a nearby sofa.

Bruce took a moment to gather himself, then asked weakly, “What… what happened to me?”

Robin stepped closer, teasing gently. “You spook way too easily! You fainted and nearly gave us all heart attacks! Thank this young lady for saving you.”

The bodyguard then explained everything in detail–Christine’s mad attack, Bruce collapsing, and my intervention.

After listening, Bruce’s eyes found me. His confused look turned to one of shock, then deep gratitude.

A moment later, with the bodyguard’s help, Bruce walked over to me.

He gave a slight, formal bow. “Miss, thank you for saving my life.”

“You’re welcome. The situation was urgent. I had to act fast. I hope you don’t mind the… direct approach,” I replied with a small smile.

Bruce let out a hearty laugh. “If not for your ‘direct approach, I’d have stopped breathing for good!”

I blinked. “As long as you’re not offended.”

“Haha! You’re such a fun kid!” Bruce laughed, looking much more like himself.

Robin also came over, looking at me with approval. “What’s your name?”

“Lira Krom.”

Bruce nodded, his tone solemn now. “Good. Lira.
