Howl of Destiny: Alpha Lira’s Legend
Chapter 28 An Unpleasant Encounter
Lira’s POV:
Finished
After confirming Bruce’s treatment schedule, I continued rushing between school and the company.
By day, I was an ordinary Omega student, carefully holding back Victoria’s powerful aura. By night, I switched back–the future Alpha of the Hidmoon Pack, making decisions for Four Seasons Group. Busy, but full.
Finally, Saturday came. I’d planned to stay home and rest properly, but my phone rang at the worst time.
“Lira! Any plans today?”
Laura’s boisterous voice came through the speaker, sharp enough to make my eardrums buzz even with my wolf hearing dialed down.
I rubbed my temples. “Not really.”
“Perfect!” Her voice shot up a notch. “Sally is treating us to dinner at Spring Palace tonight!
“It’s been almost a month since school started. You’re always disappearing. You can’t say no this time—you
have to come!”
I gave a soft laugh and agreed. “Alright. Tonight it is.”
Thinking about it, since the term began, I’d been juggling school, company business, and helping Enid with Hidmoon Pack matters from afar. I really hadn’t spent proper time with them.
That evening, I took a taxi straight to Spring Palace.
Serena had, ht me a sports car earlier, but I’d given it back.
A high school student driving a car like that would draw too much attention–especially an “ordinary Omega” like me.
Besides, the company had lots of complicated affairs. It was more useful in her hands.
Spring Palace was the top Michelin–starred restaurant in the Silverwhip Pack. I’d never been, but I’d heard of it.
The moment I reached the entrance, a guard stopped me.
“I’m sorry, miss. We operate on a membership system. Non–members cannot enter.
“Would you like to call your friend to come out and escort you in?”
I nodded and was about to take out my phone to call Laura when a sharp, arrogant voice cut in behind me.
“Oh! If it isn’t Ms. Krom! Stuck at the door?”
The woman’s tone was mocking. “Aren’t you supposed to be so capable? Can’t even get into a place like

“Want me to take you in? After all, a lowly Omega like you has probably never seen a high–end spot like this.”
I turned. A group of well–dressed men and women was approaching. The speaker was Christine.
A lazy smile curved my lips. My tone was light, teasing. “I wondered who it was. Ms. Malcom.
“Your… memorable performance at the charity dinner the other night–truly unforgettable.”
Christine’s face darkened instantly. Her wolf eyes flashed as she glared at me, trying to intimidate.
She clearly remembered the scene–her losing control, making a spectacle of herself.
She gritted her teeth, angry. “Lira! I knew you were in on it with that Leslie! No wonder you were so ‘helpful‘ that night–you’d planned it together!”
Looking at her flustered, furious face, I sneered. “It seems a pure–blood ‘high–rank‘ like you isn’t even as sharp as this ‘Omega‘. First, I don’t know Leslie. Second, she’s your ‘dear‘ best friend. Think before you speak. Don’t act like an uneducated fool.”
“Shut your mouth!” Christine was so furious her sharp fangs shot down. She snarled at me.
I didn’t react, but Victoria was enraged. She wanted to take over right then and teach her a lesson.
It took effort to calm her down.
Just then, the quick tap–tap of heels came from inside the restaurant.
Sally hurried out. When she saw me, she rushed over. “Lira, you took forever! Come on, everyone’s waiting.”
She glanced at Christine and her group beside me, then asked, confused, “Are these… friends of yours?”\
I calmly took her arm. “I don’t know them,” I said flatly.
Then I pulled her with me into the restaurant.

Christine’s POV:
“Lira! Stop right there!”
She didn’t even look back. Like she hadn’t heard me.
Watching her dare to ignore me like that… I wanted to let my wolf take over right then. To pounce and rip
her throat out!
I was about to chase after her to teach her a lesson when a handsome male voice spoke up behind me
“Lira!”

The sudden voice made the whole scene go quiet. Like everyone else, I turned to look.
