Howl of Destiny: Alpha Lira’s Legend
Chapter 29 A Warm Gathering
Lira’s POV:
Following Sally into the private room, I saw a few others already seated inside.
Victoria’s sharp senses instantly picked up their friendly auras. The slight tension I’d felt eased.

The moment Laura saw us, she jumped up and ran over, her tone playfully complaining. “You two took forever! We were waiting so long!”
Sally rolled her eyes. “Don’t ask. We ran into… trouble at the door. Got held up.”
She pulled me to an empty seat and turned to the others. “Everyone, this is Lira Krom. A dear friend of mine. From now on, in the Silverwhip Pack, you look out for her!
“Wow, she’s gorgeous!” a cheerful voice exclaimed.
I looked up. A high–ranking wolf boy with golden hair. Handsome, with a bright, sunny smile.
He didn’t look down on me for being an “Omega.” He greeted me warmly.
“Hi, Lira. I’m Joseph Paulk.”
“Hello,” I replied with a small nod.
The others stood and introduced themselves one by one. I learned they were all childhood friends of Sally’s. They’d grown up together. They were close.
They were all well–bred high–rank wolves. Kind–natured. Like Sally, they were polite and treated me with warmth.
Feeling their genuine friendliness, even Lily–who usually shrank back instinctively around high–ranks relaxed completely inside me.
After brief introductions, Sally looked around the table seriously. “Lira is my best friend. No one bullies her, got it?”
Laura chimed in immediately. “Yeah! Lira’s my good friend too. Hands off!”
My heart warmed.
Since leaving the Hidmoon Pack, I’d never experienced being protected like this.
Sally and Laura were sincere. They never looked down on me for my “low–rank” status. Instead, they made
a point of introducing me to their circle. Their kindness touched me deeply.
Joseph picked up his wine glass and walked over. His tone was earnest. “Don’t worry, Lira. If you’re Sally’s friend, you’re our friend.
“From now on, in the Silverwhip Pack, if you need anything, just ask.”

I smiled and nodded. “Thank you.”

Ronald Schultz, sitting nearby, added, “He’s right, Lira. We’re all friends here. Any trouble, you tell us. Don’t be shy.”
I picked up my own glass. “It’s a pleasure to meet you all.”
“Cheers!” Everyone clinked glasses with me.
Soon, everyone was chatting and laughing. The room grew lively.
A few girls gathered together, talking about party plans and their ideal fated mates.
I wasn’t great at those topics, so I mostly listened, chiming in now and then.
This kind of warm, lively atmosphere… it was something I’d never known in Brookstone Pack.
