Chapter 35 Welcome to the Team
Lira’s POV:
Travis glanced at the number on his phone, then picked up quickly. “This is Travis.”

“Yeah, send him straight up to the top floor–CEO’s office.” He hung up right after, then looked at me to explain, “That friend I told you about, Rodney Watkins? He is here. I told the secretary to bring him right up.”
I twirled my pen between my fingers, nodded and smiled. “Alright, let’s meet him. Then he can take some of the load off you.”
A minute later, there was a soft knock on my office door.
“Come in,” I said quietly.
The door pushed open, and the secretary led a guy in.
He was dressed casually–a loose, rolled–up plaid shirt and sweatpants. He had narrow eyes, a sharp nose, and a little stubble on his chin. He smelled like an artist. Artsy all the way.
He looked kind of lazy and careless at first glance–total goldbrick vibe. But when I took a quick sniff, Victoria could tell right away: he was a pure–blood high–level werewolf, and his fighting skills were no joke at all.
Travis stood up, walked over, and hugged him with a smile. “Hey, man–long time no see.
“Long time no see,” the guy said, his voice a little rough and scratchy.
I stood up and walked over too, holding out my hand with a smile. “Hi, Rodney. Heard a lot about you.”
Rodney looked me up and down, frowned a little, then turned to Travis, shocked. “This… this is…”
Travis laughed quietly at Rodney’s shocked face. “Yep, this is our boss–Lira Krom.
“It is cool you are shocked. I was even more surprised when I first met her!
“Don’t let the Omega thing fool you. She is just as tough and good at her job as we are. You will see once you work with her,” he added.
Rodney finally snapped out of it and looked at me with a little apology. “Sorry about that–I was just caught off guard. Total lack of manners.”
I smiled softly. “It is fine. You will get used to it sooner or later.”
“Come on, let’s sit and talk,” Travis said, then wandered over to the lounge area like he owned the place.
I shook my head with a smile and led Rodney over.
Once the three of us sat down, we got down to business right away.

“Ms. Krom, I was not going to get back into this business,” Rodney said, sounding really sincere. “But Travis was so genuine he won me over. And when he told me how you run things? I loved it. So I decided to come meet you today.”
I leaned back in my chair and nodded calmly. “Travis told me a little about you. I am really impressed with your experience.
“Look, I think if you fall down, you have to get back up. That is the only way to hit back at whoever knocked you down in the first place.”
Rodney sighed and nodded. “You are right. I should have gotten back up where I fell. I should not be such a wimp, letting one bad fall make me forget all the work I put into this business over the years.
“It is just… that fall hit me real hard. I could not get back up right away.”
I smiled, patted his shoulder, and said confidently, “Don’t worry. If you trust me and stick with me, I will get you back on top.”
Rodney stared at me, stunned. His eyes looked a little teary, like he was holding back.
He sighed softly, then said suddenly, “Now I get it. I get why Travis is willing to work for an Omega like
you.
“I don’t know why, but I can feel it too–you have got that something that makes people want to follow you. I am in. I will work for you.”
I smiled and held out my hand again, serious this time. “Then welcome to the Four Seasons Group family. And congratulations–you just decided to give yourself another shot.”
He smiled real big, shook my hand hard…
The three of us talked for a long time and got really into it.
Every time I shared an idea, they looked convinced, nodding along the whole time.
Rodney seemed like a real emotional guy. After I talked about one of my ideas, he got so excited he popped out his wolf ears and stood up clapping. “That is perfect! I thought I knew everything about the entertainment business, but hearing you talk? I see how much I still have to learn.
“Lira, you are amazing! I don’t even know what to say. I want to work with you forever.”
I raised an eyebrow, smiling calmly. “You two are my right–hand people–I handpicked you. You are both really good at what you do. From now on, we work together. If we are going to do this, we are going to do it right!”
