Chapter 36 A Last–Minute Change of Plans
Lira’s POV:
I checked the caller ID and picked up right away. “Mr. Cox, hello.”
Reginald let out a big laugh on the other end. “Ms. Krom, you remember our plan, right?”
“Yeah, I do. Isn’t it two o’clock this afternoon?”

“Sorry, Ms. Krom, something came up. Can we switch it to right now? I’ll come pick you up myself.” Ever since we met last time, he talked to me–this “Omega“-with a little more politeness, even respect.
That felt nice. I said yes right away. “Sure, no problem. I’ll send you my address right now.”
I hung up and turned to the two guys next to me. “Sorry, I was going to buy you two lunch, but something popped up last minute. I can’t make it.”
Travis joked. “Then you owe us a meal. I’ll get lunch today and show Rodney around the company to get him used to things.”
“Yeah, go take care of your stuff. Travis can show me around,” Rodney added. “Besides, we haven’t seen each other in ages. It will be good to catch up.”
I nodded, looking at both of them. “Alright, you two work it out.”
Then I turned to Rodney. “Oh, Rodney, once you finish your own things, you can start whenever you
want.”
Rodney spoke up right away. “I have nothing going on. I can start tomorrow. And after talking to you for so long, I’m all pumped up.”
I stood up, held out my hand, and smiled. “Then, welcome to Four Seasons Group–officially, again.”
Rodney stood up too, shook my hand, and looked really serious.
From Victoria’s reaction inside me, I could feel his sincerity. I let out a soft breath of relief.
It was not easy to have a trusted right–hand man, especially when I was pretending to be an “Omega.”
I made up my mind even more–no more worrying about feelings or other stuff. Focus only on work. First, for Hidmoon Pack’s future. Second, to live up to the trust from Rodney and the others…
I said goodbye to them and then left the office first.
When I got off the elevator, all the workers walking by stared at me, curious.
Their quiet whispers came through loud and clear to my sharp ears-
“Who do you think this Omega is? She can just walk into the CEO’s office!”
“No–clue! And did you see? Mr. Bailey is so polite to her too.”

“That is so strange…”
I smiled, ignored them, and acted like I did not hear a thing. It fit my “Omega” act perfectly.
When I walked out of the group building, a black Rolls–Royce was parked right at the door.
The door opened, and a tall man stepped out, calm and steady. He smiled warmly at me. “Sorry, Ms. Krom, for changing the time last minute. I hope it does not mess up your day.”
I shook my head and smiled. “It is fine. I was going to go this afternoon anyway. You picking me up early saves me some time.”
Then he politely helped me get into the car.
Back at the company, the workers who saw us were losing their minds. Their whispers reached my ears loud and clear.
‘Oh my god! That guy is so hot! Look how tall and strong he is–he has to be a pure–blood high–level werewolf!”
“Yeah! And that fancy car he drives? He is definitely someone important! What is their relationship?”
“He even came to pick her up himself!”
We were both high–level werewolves. If I could hear their whispers, Reginald next to me could too.
Luckily, I could pretend not to hear the whispers, hiding my embarrassment behind my low level Omega
status.
Reginald had a weird, unreadable look on his face when he heard them. I acted like I did not notice…
The car drove all the way to a manor and stopped at the gate.
The gate slowly opened.
