Chapter 43 A Family’s Hope
Lira’s POV:
As she talked, she almost knelt down right in front of me.
Luckily, I was quick. I grabbed her just in time to keep her from falling.

The guy next to her put his arm around her shoulders and introduced himself. “Ms. Krom, nice to meet you. I’m Brian Wilson–Virginia’s dad.
“Elder Cox and our family are pretty close. That’s how we found out you fixed his illness. Hope you don’t mind us checking you out–we just couldn’t take another letdown.”
I looked at both of them, calm as could be. “It’s all good. I really can cure Virginia, so don’t stress. I ain’t hiding my medical skills or nothing, so it’s no biggie.”
After I said that, I checked my watch. “How about I head over to see her with you right now?”
Virginia’s mom, Brenda Wilson, jumped in right away. “Yes, yes, yes! Thank you–thank you so much.”
Right after that, I followed them to the car…
The car pulled up in front of a villa out in the suburbs.
All kinds of green plants grew around the villa, and their smell was kinda like Hidmoon Pack’s.
It made Lily, Victoria, and me feel that warm, cozy feeling we hadn’t had in ages.
I thought about the Wilson family fast. I flipped through the Silverwhip Pack info I’d read before and remembered right off the bat–this family was the most powerful Gamma family in Silverwhip Pack. They had some real clout.
So it made total sense they were tight with Bruce.
Once we got out of the car, they led me inside their house, all warm and friendly.
As soon as I stepped into the living room, a worried voice called out.
“Brian, did you get her?”
An old man walked out.
He’s a Gamma. You can smell a little battlefield on him. He’s gotta be Virginia’s grandpa. Victoria told me right
away.
I can’t smell anything. Lily was all bummed out.
I smiled and looked at Virginia’s grandpa, Chester Wilson, calm and easy.
He was staring at me too, his eyes wide with surprise and confusion.

Then a few more elders walked in one after another. They stood next Chester like it was no big deal, all staring at me.
Brian introduced me to them right away. “Mom, Dad–this is Ms. Krom.”
He turned back to me and pointed them out one by one. “Ms. Krom, these are my parents and my wife’s parents. They were all pumped to meet you when they heard I was gonna ask you for help.”
The elders looked at each other. Some of them clearly didn’t trust an “Omega” to have real medical skills.
But Chester grabbed my hand, all excited. “Ms. Krom, Virginia’s our family’s treasure. We’re counting on you to cure her–please, you gotta make her better.”
“We’d given up all hope before, but you brought it back to us.”
“That’s right, Ms. Krom. You look like just an Omega, but we know if you got famous for your skills, you must be good. We all believe you can fix Virginia.”
I looked at the elders in front of me. Right then, they weren’t powerful leaders–just grandparents who cared about their granddaughter more than anything.
I could see how real their worry was in their eyes–no faking it.
Even though Virginia was just a regular–level werewolf, they loved her to pieces.
But my dad… he never paid much attention to me, never really liked me–just because I was an Omega…
Thinking about what went down at Brookstone Pack made me feel blue.
I took a deep breath and shook those thoughts off. I looked at the elders seriously. “Don’t worry. I’ll do everything I can to cure Virginia.”
They got even more excited when they heard that–grins all around.
Chester’s wife, Treva Wilson, held my hand gently. “Thank you, dear–thank you so much.”
Right then, a sweet voice called out. “Lira! You actually came!”
I looked up. There was Virginia, that sweet–smiling girl, rushing down the stairs as fast as she could.
She walked up to me, hung her head a little, and said, “I’m so sorry. I wanted to go with Mom and Dad to ask you for help, but they wouldn’t let me leave the house. But I’m so happy you’re here.”
I smiled at her. “Don’t run around if you’re not feeling well. Take it easy.”
Brenda jumped in fast. “Yes! Ms. Krom, come sit. Look at us–we were so busy talking we forgot to ask you to sit down.”
Then she turned to a maid standing nearby. “Bring Ms. Krom some drinks and snacks, please.”
We sat down on the sofa. Virginia grabbed my hand right away, all excited. “You have no idea–Mom and Dad won’t even let me get out of bed. I owe you my life from the other day. I didn’t think I’d wake up again.
