Chapter 44 More Than a Cure

Lira’s POV:

“No way! You don’t need any medical tools to check her out?”

“Yeah! Every doctor I’ve ever seen–even the best ones–uses tools to check patients.”

For Virginia’s sickness, I just needed to smell her all over. Victoria could figure out what was wrong right

away.

I couldn’t explain it to them, so I just smiled softly. “Just do what I tell you. That’s all you need to worry about.”

Brenda jumped right on it. “Got it. I’ll go get it ready right now.” She stood up and headed upstairs.

The room was ready in just a minute.

I told the elders to wait downstairs–I didn’t want them getting too worked up and excited.

Brenda and Brian follow me and Virginia up to the room.

I told Virginia to take off her jacket and lie flat. I got close to her and smelled her carefully. Right after that, I had Victoria figure out the main reason she was sick.

Once I knew what was causing it, everything was easy. I pulled needles and the new special medicine I’d made in my space out of my bag.

I slowly pushed the medicine into Virginia’s body with a syringe.

Little by little, her pale face turned pink and healthy. Her lips returned to their normal color, the purple

gone.

After a minute, Virginia opened her eyes slowly.

Brian and Brenda rushed over, all anxious. “Virginia, how do you feel?”

“Yeah, does your heart still hurt?”

Virginia looked at them, grinning big. “Mom, Dad–I’ve never felt this good in my whole life! So this is what it’s like to breathe easy!

“And I can totally feel my wolf spirit’s energy piling up in my heart. My body’s full of energy now!”

Brian and Brenda cried tears of joy. They held my hand and thanked me over and over. “Ms. Krom, thank you! Thank you so much!”

I patted their backs to calm them down, then took a small medicine bottle out of my bag and handed it to Brenda. “This is medicine I made myself. It’ll fix the organ damage she’s had all these years.

“Take one pill a day. Once it’s gone, she’ll be totally fine–no more issues.”

Brenda took the small bottle fast and nodded seriously. “Got it.”

Then, with Virginia pushing us, we went downstairs together to tell the elders the good news.

Virginia threw her arms around the elders, all excited. “Grandpas, Grandmas, I’m better! I’m totally okay!”

The elders grabbed Virginia, checking her up and down. Then they hugged each other, cheering–so happy and excited it was contagious.

“Thank God! Our baby girl is finally better!”

“Now she can look forward to her fated mate just like any normal werewolf, and live healthy and happy!”

I stood off to the side watching them celebrate. Again, I felt so lucky I’d accidentally joined Hidmoon Pack and that Enid had taught me medicine to save lives.

After they were done celebrating, they pulled me over and thanked me again, real sincere. All the doubt they’d had about me was gone for good.

“Thank you, Lira!”

“Lira, can I call you that? Hope it’s okay,” Treva asked, looking at me all kind.

“Totally okay. My master calls me that too,” I smiled.

“Good. Lira, can you check Brenda? Is there any chance she can get pregnant again?”

As soon as Treva finished talking, everyone looked at me–nervous but hopeful.

I reached out and gave Brenda a quick check, then looked at her. “Mrs. Wilson, when you were pregnant with Virginia, your wolf spirit got really hurt and went into hibernation. That messed up your body, so you couldn’t get pregnant again later, right?”

Brenda looked shocked. “Yes! That’s exactly what happened! When I was pregnant with Virginia, my wolf spirit got hurt real bad and hibernated!

“I tried getting treatment everywhere, but nothing worked all these years. The doctors said my chances of getting pregnant again were super slim.”

“Yeah, the doctors are right–your chances are really low. But that doesn’t mean it can’t happen,” I said. firmly.

Brenda’s face lit up, but she still looked nervous. “Lira, so there’s still a chance for me?”

I took a bottle of medicine out of my bag and handed it to her. “This is the same as Virginia’s. It’s a new special medicine I made to fix damaged body functions. Once you finish this bottle, you’ll almost for sure get pregnant.”

Brenda took the bottle carefully. Her eyes turned red right away, and tears welled up. “That’s incredible! Thank you, Lira! Thank you so much!”

Everyone else crowded around, hugging me one after another. “Thank you so much!”
