Chapter 51 The Will
Lira’s POV:
“What the hell are you talking about?!”
He narrowed his wolf eyes again, glaring at me like he was trying to scare me off.
Frushed
“I’m waiting for Mr. Brewer to make this right. Some jackass tried to kill me on my way to your house–1 gotta get an explanation, right?.
“Risking my neck for someone out of nowhere and getting squat in return? That ain’t how I do things.”
When Rick heard that, he blew his top, bared his fangs and snarled at me, “You…”
Paul cut him off sharply. “Shut your trap!
“I told Lira to stick around. What, now nobody listens to me? The head of the Brewer family–the current top elder of the Cloudburst Pack?
“Let me spell it out. As long as I’m breathing, none of you get to run this family!”
Even lying in bed, the powerful vibe of a top elder oozed off him.
After he said that, nobody in the room dared utter a word to me.
Once he’d shut all his children and grandchildren up, Paul turned to Loren. “I’m passing the top elder spot of the Cloudburst Pack to Michael. I’ll tell the Alpha myself.”
As soon as the words left his mouth, Rick’s face went pitch black.
Paul shot him a warning look and then kept going in a low voice. “Sixty percent of my group’s shares go to Michael. Ten percent to Dwight’s family, ten percent to Joe’s, and the last twenty percent-*
He paused and suddenly looked at me. “They’re yours, Ms. Krom.
“As for all my houses, each of the young ones gets one. This mansion stays with Michael. I’ll give Rick’s family ten million and Gladys ten million too. Starting today, all of you get out of this mansion. Dwight and Joe only get dividends from their shares–no say in decisions.”
“Huh?!”
“Did I just hear that right?!”
All their eyes got huge, and they gasped–total disbelief all over their faces.
Some even snuck their wolf claws out at me, trying to intimidate me.
Rick lost his cool completely. He snapped, “Dad, why?! Why give a stranger twenty percent of the shares, but only ten million to me?!
“Is it just because of this stupid mistake I made? You’re giving Michael sixty percent–where does that

leave me, your oldest son? I’m his dad, damn it! Why?!”
Paul signed the will calmly, then told John to see Loren out.
Finished
Then he turned to Rick. “I became an elder of the Cloudburst Pack, fighting side by side with the last alpha -risking my life in brutal wars to grab land for the pack.
“And this Brewer family business? I built it from nothing with my own two hands. I can give it to whoever I damn well please!
“As for you, I’ve been way too nice. Not asking the Alpha to boot you out of the pack–that’s the last bit of father–son decency I got left!
“If you use that ten million smartly, you can still make something of yourself. Even if you just sit on your ass, that ten million’s enough to last you the rest of your life..
“As for Michael–I’ve seen what he’s got. He’s way more capable than you of being an Elder, and he can run the group better too.”
Rick looked totally nuts. He narrowed his wolf eyes, bared his fangs, and even held out his wolf claws–he looked like a fool.
He stared at Paul with a mean look, grinding his teeth. “Dad–that’s the last time I’ll call you that.
“You gonna take my inheritance because of one stupid mistake? Then forget about living easy! I, Rick, swear–I’ll get you back for this, no matter what!”
Right after that, he shifted into his full wolf form and jumped out the window.
The others saw that even Rick had turned on Paul–and Paul still wouldn’t budge. They didn’t dare say squat else, so they left one by one..
When everyone was gone, Joe Brewer looked at Paul, pointed at me, and whined. “Dad, you don’t know how awful this woman is! She kicked me so hard in the balls, they’re done for! Make her fix me now!”
Paul looked at him, then at me, and sighed like he was worn out.
He let out a sad, disappointed sigh, then said harshly, “If you couldn’t keep your hands off and had to go pick a fight–then good. Better that than you hurting someone else.”
With that, he waved his hand, telling him to get out.
Before Joe left, he gave me a dirty look–mean as can be.
That look was full of threats.
I scoffed–total disdain.
