Today was huge for the Thorne family–it was Randy Thorne’s 80th birthday. Everyone took it super seriously. People from every pack showed up, trying their best to suck up to the Thorne family with birthday wishes.
In the banquet hall, an old man was swarmed by people. Guests kept coming over to wish him well Even though he was over 80, his hair all white, his aura was so strong no one dared to disrespect him–not even a little bit.
Randy was the former Lycan King, and now the top elder in the whole werewolf clan.
When he stepped down, he shocked everyone by giving the Lycan King title to his grandson, Kael.
Standing next to Randy were a man and a woman–Sanford Thorne and Mary Thorne, Randy’s son and daughter–in–law.
Sanford was around 40. He was good–looking, tall and lean, and came off as really steady.
Mary, standing next to him, wore a plain dress with light makeup. You could tell just by her toned muscles and elegant, strong vibe–she was a pure–blood high–rank werewolf too.
The two kept greeting guests as they walked in.
All over the hall, people huddled in small groups, chatting, laughing, and clinking glasses.
“Happy birthday, Elder Thorne!”
“Elder Thorne, you look way healthier and more energetic than last year!”
Birthday wishes kept pouring in. Randy smiled and said, “Thanks.”
“Grandpa, happy birthday.” Just then, a guy and a girl walked over. The girl looked gentle and calm, with a friendly look in her eyes.
The guy looked a lot like Sanford–good–looking, tall and straight.
These two were Sanford’s eldest daughter, Teresa Thorne, and second son, Seth Thorne.
“Hmm, I thought you two were having so much fun you’d forget my birthday.” Randy looked at them with a warm, teasing grin.
Seth grinned, walked over, and hooked his arm through Randy’s. “Grandpa, c’mon. We wanna stay with you all the time, but we were scared we’d bug you. If you don’t mind, I’ll hang around you every day from

now on.”
Randy tapped Seth on the forehead, speaking softly. “You–still such a goofball, even at your age.”
“Mr. Thorne, happy birthday!” Right then, a loud voice boomed.
A guy and a girl walked over from the other side of the hall. The guy wore a nice suit and looked about 40 -polite, gentle, and tall. The girl next to him was around 20, soft and sweet, in a white evening dress with a mermaid cut that showed off her slim figure perfectly.
“Arnold! When did you get back?” Randy smiled when he saw them.
“I just got back. Heard it’s your birthday today, so I rushed over right away.” Arnold Gritton spoke respectfully.
Randy nodded warmly. “That’s real thoughtful of you.” Then he looked at the girl next to him, confused. “This young lady–ain’t this Ruth?”
Arnold hurried to say, “Yeah. This is Ruth. You even held her when she was a baby.” Then he turned to Ruth Gritton fast. “Hurry up and greet him.”
“Mr. Thorne, happy birthday,” Ruth said in a sweet voice.
Randy looked at her, sighing. “You’ve grown so much! Back then, you were just a tiny little thing. Time flies -you’re all grown up now!

“Oh, you remember Teresa and Seth, right? You played together when you were kids,” he said, pointing to the guy and girl next to him.
Seth rolled his eyes. “Grandpa, that was years ago. Course I don’t remember.”
Teresa gave him a playful glare, then smiled at Ruth. “Ruth, don’t mind him. Seth’s always like this. I remember–we played together all the time when we were little.”
Ruth didn’t care, still smiling sweetly. “Yeah, I remember too! Back then, you, me, and Kael used to go to wolf spirit training together.”
After she said that, she looked around. “Where’s Kael? I haven’t seen him in years. I still remember–his wolf spirit woke up the earliest and was the strongest back then. We were all scared of him, but we still loved playing with him.”
Arnold laughed. “Yeah, you used to say you wanted to be Kael’s mate when you grew up!”
Ruth’s cheeks turned pink. She glared at him. “Dad! How could you say that in front of everyone?!”
Teresa smiled. “Kael hasn’t shown up yet. He said he’d be back, but we haven’t seen him–not even a whiff
of his scent.”
Seth looked at Ruth, teasing her with a grin. “What, still hung up on Kael? He’s already the Lycan King. You wanna be the most powerful Luna, huh?”
