Lira’s POV
Honestly, I kinda admired girls like Barbara. She could take a beating and keep going No matter how bad things got between us, she’d act all chummy when we ran into each other again.
Like right now.
I made fun of her, but she didn’t get ticked off. She smiled and said, “Lira, I messed up before I hope you can forgive me
After that, she poured a glass of wine and handed it to me. Then she tapped her glass lightly against mine and took a tiny sip.
I looked at the red wine in front of me and smirked.
That bright red color looked tempting in the dark. I didn’t even have to pick it up–my wolf Victoria could smell the drugs in it.
I picked up the glass, swirled it slowly, and stared at her like I was thinking, “Barbara, you sure you want me to drink this?”
My question made her nervous right off the bat. “Of course. This wine’s my apology. I was wrong before. Drink it, and we’re square.”
I sneered at the wine in my hand, then brought it to my nose and sniffed.
Sally grabbed my arm fast. “Lira, don’t drink it! Who knows what she’s plotting?”
“It’s fine. Ms. Price is so earnest. If I say no, I’d be bailing on her.” I gave Sally a reassuring look, then downed the whole glass of wine.
After I finished, I even shook my glass at Barbara to show it was empty.
When Barbara saw I’d finished it, she finally let out a breath like she could relax.
She gave me this innocent smile and said, “Okay, Lira. Thanks for forgiving me. I’ll head back inside now.”
Then she stood up and walked toward the banquet hall.
I stared at her back and snorted.
She never learned. She really thought I was just a weak Omega she could walk all over? Daring to pull this junk on me over and over.
Well, this time, I’d teach her a lesson she wouldn’t forget…
After Barbara left, Sally hurried over and asked, “Lira, why’d you drink that wine?! She’s definitely up to something bad!”
I smiled softly and calmed her down. “It’s okay. I knew she put drugs in it. But that stuff can’t touch me.

Chapter 72 The Trap and the Kidnapping
Finished
“I drank it on purpose to see what trick she’s gonna pull next
After I said that, I went back to eating the food on my plate like nothing had happened.
The party dragged on late into the night. All the guests left one by one. Sally wanted to walk me home, but I said no.
The “game” had just started. I couldn’t let someone down, could I?
I had to be alone to play along with Barbara’s “act” better.
Then I walked slowly down the road.
The Rivera Villa was in a fancy neighborhood, so there were barely any cars around. The road was empty -no one in sight. The trees on both sides swayed back and forth, making a rustling noise that made the place feel a little spooky.
Suddenly, I heard a car speeding up behind me. I turned around to look at the car coming straight at me, and a smirk tugged at my lips.
The black car stopped right in front of me. The doors flew open, and a few big, tough guys in black got
out.
These are high–rank werewolves–like pro killers! Lily warned me, tensing up inside me right away.
But Victoria didn’t give them the time of day.
I stared at them calmly and sneered. Just like I thought–they showed up this quickly.
“C’mon. Let’s go meet your boss. I wanna see what trick she’s gonna play now.” After I said that, I got into their car right in front of them, and they just stood there, shocked.
They looked at each other, then got in the car nervously and started driving.
Third–Person Perspective:
In the shadows, Carl watched the car drive off. He didn’t know if he should report it. Ms. Krom told me not to get involved, but what if something happens to her? How do I explain that to the King?
Back with Lira, the car got on the highway.
Lira sat with her legs crossed, relaxed in the seat. Her eyes were covered, and her hands were tied up, but she didn’t yell or cry.
The guys in black next to her looked at each other shocked when they saw how calm she was.
