Chapter 75 The Rescue

Lira’s POV:

Finished

The sound got louder and louder. A minute later, I saw a helicopter touching down slowly on the empty ground nearby.

Victoria started acting up inside me, all antsy and restless.

I caught a familiar scent and froze–couldn’t wrap my head around it.

Then the door opened, and a tall, broad figure hurried out.

His gorgeous face looked even more striking in the dark. His black windbreaker flapped in the wind as he walked, and the intense vibe he gave off made the air turn ice cold.

I was still in shock, wondering why Kael was here, when he grabbed me and pulled me into his arms tight.

Feeling his heartbeat, smelling his familiar scent, I finally dared to believe it was real–not some hallucination.

I could barely breathe, so I pushed him gently. “You’re holding me too tight–I can’t catch my breath.”

Kael’s POV:

I let Lira go right away. When I saw her pale face, sweat pouring down her forehead, and blood dripping from her arm, my heart hurt like hell.

My little girl–how’d she get herself so beat up in just a short while?

Good thing Gary told me, or I would’ve been scared to death of losing her.

I picked her up in my arms and rushed toward the helicopter. I turned to Gary behind me and snapped, “Call Arthur. Tell him to get to Garden Villa right now and wait. And find out what the hell went down- quick!”

Then I stepped onto the helicopter.

On the way over, my wolf spirit Zeus already smelled how weak she was. I was so worried I almost jumped out of the helicopter to find her.

Now that I had her in my arms, I finally felt a little better.

Looking at her in my arms, I gently brushed the hair stuck to her face, my heart aching.

How much guts did this fragile Omega have to be so strong? She was in so much pain, but she didn’t make a single sound.

The stronger she was, the more it hurt.

“Kael, why are you here?” she looked up and asked me.

Chapter 25 The Rescum

I didn’t say a word to explain.

I was boiling with anger–someone dared to hurt her like this!

When Carl told me Lira had been taken, I went cold all over. I thought my heart was gonna stop

That’s when I realized–1 cared about her way more than I ever thought.

Fear and panic took over me. I rounded up my men right away, tracked her down, even canceled the meeting with all the pack Alphas, and raced over as fast as I could.

When I saw she was still alive, my heart finally settled a little.

But her quiet suffering and the wound on her arm–they all screamed that I hadn’t protected her.

It made me so mad and so hurt.

Thinking about it, I clenched my fists so tight my knuckles turned white. I wanted to find the person who hurt her and tear them apart on the spot!

Scared I’d frighten her, I put my wolf claws away and held her even tighter.

On the helicopter, she fell sound asleep in my arms.

When we got to my place in the Silverwhip Pack–Garden Villa–I carried her to my room myself.

Looking at her sleeping face, I brushed her hair and whispered without thinking, “Lira, I’m so glad you’re okay.”
