Howl of Destiny: Alpha Lira’s Legend
Chapter 84 Bet You Didn’t See That Coming
Lira’s POV:
Finished
I turned around and saw a guy I’d never met. Tall, good–looking but kinda worn out–no pep. His eyes were sharp, and his vibe made everyone wanna back down.
He must be Dale’s son, Manuel.
Krista pouted at him. “Manuel, how come you’re taking her side? I’m not lying—she’s a total con artist!
“The best docs in the Pack Alliance couldn’t fix Lance. What’s a low–life Omega gonna do? She’s just bullshitting us!” She frowned, looking all poor–me, then shot me a dirty look.
I didn’t give a damn. I walked straight to the table and said to Dennis, “Dennis, appetizer’s foie gras with fig jam. Main course: beef bourguignon. And a caramel pudding, thanks.”
“Right away, Ms. Krom. I’ll tell the kitchen.”
Krista lost it–me ordering the butler around like she wasn’t even there.
She popped out her wolf eyes, pointed at me, and screamed, “Who the hell do you think you are? You can’t tell Dennis what to do! A lowly Omega–you dare blow me off?”
I stood up quickly, let out a little of Victoria’s pressure, and walked up to her slowly, staring daggers.
“W… What are you gonna do?” Krista froze, scared out of her mind, stuttering.
I stopped right in her face, smirked, leaned in, and brushed her cheek. I tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, checked her out, and said softly, “Nothing. Just wanna see what the Golder family’s heiress from the Fragrance Pack looks like up close.
“Turns out, you’re just basic.
“Word of advice–don’t go around saying you’re the Golder princess. You’ll just make the Golder family. look bad. C’mon, you’re an alpha’s kid–act like it.”
“You bitch! How dare you mock me!” Veins popped out on Krista’s forehead. She swatted my hand away and yelled.
I stood up straight, pulled out a napkin, and wiped the fingers she’d touched–like they were dirty. I said coldly, “Don’t think you’re better because you’re the Golder heiress.
“Let’s keep it real–you’re a leech. You’re just lucky you were born into this family. Without the Golder name, you’re nothing. So drop the attitude. To me, you’re zero.”
“You!” Krista was so mad that she popped out her wolf eyes and pointed at me–about to snap. But then Edward walked out of his study.
He said coldly, “Lira’s right. The Golder name gave you all your shine. Without it, you’re nothing!
“So quit acting like you’re all that.”

Chapter 84 Bet You Didn’t See That Coming
Finished
He sat down at the head of the table, a maid served him, and he ate with me–happy as can be.
Everyone else shut up, just waiting…
Suddenly, a voice yelled from upstairs, hyped. “Alpha! Mr. Lance Golder is up!”
The news hit the Golder family like a truck–everyone but me was shocked.
Cheryl dropped her coffee cup on the floor, shattering it with a loud crash.
Edward gave Cheryl a dirty look, then turned and headed to Lance’s room with me. The others snapped out of it and chased after us.
I checked Lance quickly–he’d only been awake a sec. Then I stood up and told Edward, “He’s good. His wolf spirit’s coming back slowly. The last little bit of poison will leave on its own–no harm. Rest a month, and he’ll be 100%.”
Edward grabbed my hand, thanking me nonstop. Then he rushed to the bed, all hyped, checking Lance over. “Lance, how are you feeling?”
Lance looked weak and asked, “Grandpa, how long was I out?”
“Almost three months. We owe it all to Lira. If not for her, I never could’ve faced your parents.” Edward’s eyes got red–he was so stoked.
Lance looked at me and asked softly, “You saved me, right? Thanks.”
I smiled. “No need. Just glad you’re up. Wanna thank someone? Thank your grandpa–he stressed himself sick over you.”
Lance smiled and nodded, then told Edward. “Grandpa, make sure you thank Lira for me, okay?”
