Chapter 86 A Call and a Diamond
Lira’s POV:
“Lira, it’s me.”
Kael’s deep, magnetic voice came through the phone.

My heart fluttered a little, that tingly feeling I got the other day when he held me and spoke right into my
ear.
I froze, not sure what to say.
“Why aren’t you talking?” Kael asked, his voice still low and magnetic.
“It’s so late. Why aren’t you asleep yet?” I snapped back to my senses and asked.
Kael’s voice softened a little. “I still have work to finish. I missed you, so I wanted to hear your voice. What about you–did you miss me?”
My cheeks heated up right away. I quickly denied it, no second thoughts. “I did not miss you at all.”
Kael let out a deep, low laugh.
I got annoyed, like he could see right through me. “Kael, cut it out! If you keep laughing, I will hang up.”
Kael stopped laughing, and his deep, magnetic voice came again. “Lira, when are you coming back to the Silverwhip Pack?”
I froze for a second, then got mad. “Kael, how do you know I’m not at the Silverwhip Pack? Are you having someone follow me?!”
still
“Lira, you are more important than my own life. I need to know where you are every second. I do not want you to get hurt like you did last time.
“I won’t meddle in anything you do, but I have to know where you are. You are just an Omega–you get hurt too easily. So I sent people to watch over you, in secret.” Kael’s voice sounded dead serious.
As I listened to him, a warm feeling spread through my chest. My heart was all tangled up.
I knew I could barely hold back from giving in to this man. Besides, my wolf spirits Victoria and Lily did not mind him one bit.
“Kael, will you be good to me forever?” Before I even realized how big that question was, it was out of my mouth.
Kael answered right away, no hesitation. “Lira, I would betray the whole world before I ever betray you. Because of you, I finally get what it means to care about someone this much–rank and status do not matter one bit to me.
“I swear to the Moon Goddess, in my name as Lycan King, I’ll do whatever it takes to protect you and keep you happy for the rest of your life.”

Chapter 86 A Call and a Diamond
Kael’s words hit me hard, sticking with me long after. I could barely remember how the call ended…
The morning in the Fragrance Pack was a little damp.
I planned to head back to the Silverwhip Pack today, but Sun begged me to take him around the Fragrance Pack first. After all, we never get to come here.
When I went downstairs, it was still early, and the dining room was empty. I ate breakfast and then left.
It was rare to have such a laid–back day. I held Sun and walked outside, just wandering around.
After walking for a bit, I noticed the real estate industry in the Fragrance Pack had a ton of potential. I called Serena right away and told her to look up some info so we could get in on it early.
Once I finished talking to her, I took Sun and kept shopping,
As soon as we walked into the mall, Sun took off running, crazy with excitement. He finally stopped in front of a jewelry store and kept barking at me.
I shook my head, poked his little face, and asked quietly, “You’re a little fox–why a jewelry store?”
“I want it! I want it!” he said, then ran straight into the store without looking back..
I followed him in, helpless. Sun seemed obsessed with diamonds–he kept barking at them.
I thought for a second, then told the salesperson to grab the diamond necklace Sun had his eye on. I picked it up and checked it out. Sun kept nudging my hand, whispering so only I could hear. “I like this one! I want this one.”
I smiled, helpless, and said okay. I was about to pay when a slim hand suddenly snatched the necklace right out of mine.
Then I heard a woman’s sweet, flirty voice. “Honey, I want this diamond necklace.”
