Chapter 88 A Deal to Save Him
Lira’s POV:
I looked at the information, smiled, and then spaced out….
It took me a long time to snap out of it and keep playing with Sun.
We played until night, and I finally took him back to the Golder Manor.
Finished
As soon as I walked in, I could feel the tension in the air. A few Omega maids saw me come in and looked like they could finally relax.
“Lira, you must be tired from walking around. Everyone’s been waiting for you to eat,” Edward said, sitting in the living room and greeting me warmly.
After he said that, he told Dennis to bring out the food.
I smiled and said, “I am so sorry you had to wait. My bad–I should have called to let you know.”
Edward shook his head with a kind smile. “It is fine. This is your first time in the Fragrance Pack. I should have sent someone with you to show you around. My mistake.”
I smiled softly. “I like walking around alone.”
More importantly, if someone he sent followed me, I could not use Victoria and Lily’s special dual wolf spirit energy to move around most of the pack easily.
Edward did not say anything else. He stood up and said, “Come on, eat with me.”
Then he took my hand and headed for the dining room.
The other Golder family members followed us to the dining room too.
Dennis had already told the maids to set out all the appetizers.
The whole dining room was quiet–only the sound of eating. No one said a word the entire meal.
The atmosphere was really weird. It made me wonder if big families with alphas were always this full of drama. The Hidmoon Pack was better, simple and pure.
After eating, I took out a medicine bottle and handed it to Edward. “Mr. Golder, I will head back tomorrow. This medicine is for Lance–it will help him get better faster.”
Edward took the bottle right away, then looked at me gratefully. “Lira, we owe you so much this time. No matter what happens later, if I can help you with anything, just ask.”
After he said that, he gave Dennis a look. Dennis quickly handed him a check.
He picked up the check and put it in my hand. “This is a little something from me. You have to take it. When you go back, tell Elder Krom I will come see her when I have time.”

I picked up the check and froze when I saw the amount: 50 million!

I did not expect Edward to be this generous. But this money would help a lot with our Hidmoon Pack’s food supply–just enough to give the little werewolf cubs a nice, full Christmas.
I pushed those thoughts aside, looked up, and joked. “Mr. Golder, your grandson is really worth it.”
Edward got my joke and laughed it off, explaining, “My grandson is really worth it. After all, not many of my descendants are better for the Fragrance Pack’s alpha heir spot than him.
“But your medical skills are worth this money too.”
“Then I’ll take it,” I said, and put the check away right away.
“Ms. Krom, Krista was wrong earlier. She was rude to you and upset you. I hope you can forgive her–she knows she messed up,” Manuel said, taking the chance to talk to me.
I looked at Krista, who was standing next to him with a disdainful look. I smirked coldly. “Really? I don’t see her thinking she did anything wrong.”
Krista glared at me hard, then hung her head and said nothing.
“Krista, apologize to Ms. Krom right now!” Manuel looked at her, ordering in a cold, firm voice.
Krista finally looked up, her eyes red. She looked at him, wronged and stubborn, and said, “I will not! Why should I apologize? I’m the Golder heiress, a pure–blood noble descendant. She is just a lowly Omega–she has no right to make me apologize to her.”
Her stupid words completely ruined Manuel’s plan to get me to help.
