Chapter 89 A Condition and a Trap
Lira’s POV:
“What’s the condition? Spit it out.”
“We’ll say yes to anything we can manage.” They pressed me right away, eager to know.
“I want Surge Real Estate from you.”
I wasn’t some saint. They’d insulted me before, and I was still gonna save their family. Asking for a company was only fair.
After all, the three plots of land I had my eye on were all owned by Surge Real Estate–Manuel and Patricia’s company.
When I said that, Manuel stared at me like I was crazy.

He couldn’t figure out why a little “Omega” girl who only knew some medical stuff would want a real estate
company.
He stayed quiet for a while, then nodded and agreed.
“Alright, tomorrow then. Once all the paperwork’s done, I’ll save your dad.”
I got what I came for, so I didn’t hang around. I made an excuse and headed upstairs to rest.
Third–Person Perspective:
At that same time, in a bar on the east side of the Fragrance Pack, Krista kept drinking to numb herself. She mumbled over and over, “Why? Why do I have to apologize to a lowly Omega? Who even is she!”
After she said that, she grabbed another glass and chugged it down. Her makeup was all smudged, and she looked a total mess.
Cheryl stood next to her, pretending to console her but really egging her on. “You’re right. You’re the Golder heiress, Edward’s only granddaughter–the alpha of the Fragrance Pack. You should never have to apologize to a lowly Omega!”
A scheming look flickered in her eyes as she poured another glass and handed it to Krista.
“I’ve never been humiliated like this in my life. That bitch–I have to get back at her!” Krista slammed her glass down on the bar, furious.
When Cheryl heard that, an evil smile crept across her face–her plan was working.
She clenched her hands and whispered to herself, “Lira, let’s see how tough you are now…”
Lira’s POV:
Early the next morning, as soon as I got up, Manuel showed up with all the transfer papers for Surge Real Estate.

I glanced at them and joked, “Mr. Golder, you’re in a hurry. You got all the paperwork done bright and early.”
Manuel didn’t mind the joke. He smiled and said, “I just don’t want anything to mess up. If you change your mind and won’t save my dad, I’ll never forgive myself.”
I took the papers, read them through to make sure there were no tricks, and signed my name.
After breakfast, Manuel and I went to Dale’s room.
I checked Dale’s body thoroughly, then started the treatment.
It was almost noon when I finished. Manuel clapped sincerely, gushing about my medical skills.
“I wouldn’t believe it if I hadn’t seen it myself. Your skills are seriously impressive, Lira!”
I didn’t care about the flattery. I checked the time and said, “Your dad should wake up tonight. When he does, give him this medicine–one pill every day.”
I handed him a medicine bottle as I spoke.
“One more thing. Your dad was poisoned with special silver poison–made just for werewolves. You should know who’s capable of doing that.”
I didn’t wanna get tangled up in the Golder family’s drama, but I figured I’d warn him anyway.
Manuel froze when he heard that.
After a second, it clicked. His eyes turned dark, and he said seriously, “Thanks for the heads–up. I get it. I owe you one. If you ever need me for anything, don’t hold back.”
I nodded and said honestly, “Alright, I won’t. I’m sure I’ll need your help soon enough.”
After treating two Golder family members back–to–back, my business in the Fragrance Pack was pretty much done.
I went to Lance’s room to give him one final check.
He’d been lying in bed too long, and all his body functions needed time to bounce back. He still couldn’t
get up yet.
When I walked in, he saw me and tried to sit up politely to say hello. I quickly told him to lie back down and asked, “How are you feeling today?”
Lance smiled weakly. “Way better. Thanks so much–if it weren’t for you, I probably wouldn’t be here right
now,”
I patted his shoulder to reassure him. “No need to thank me. You’re good to go now. You’ll be back to normal in less than a month. I’m leaving soon, so I came to say goodbye.”
Lance looked surprised when he heard I was leaving. “Why so soon? Can’t you stay a little longer?”

I smiled and shook my head. “Nope. Don’t forget–I’m still a high school student.”
Finished
Lance laughed, like he’d forgotten how young I was. “So the miracle doctor’s still in high school. Alright, if I ever get the chance, I’ll come visit you. Don’t get tired of me then.”
I nodded with a smile. “Deal. When you come to the Silverwhip Pack, hit me up anytime.”
We exchanged phone numbers. I let Victoria sniff him carefully to make sure his wolf spirit was healing. then said goodbye, feeling at ease.
After saying goodbye to Edward, I got straight into the car the Golder family had arranged to take me to the airport.
The car got on the highway, and I was dozing off with my eyes half–closed when a faint, weird smell drifted into the car–barely there.
Even Lily could tell it was sleeping medicine. She warned me right away, and I snapped my eyes open.
The sleeping medicine didn’t affect me at all, but someone tried to drug me on the road. Clearly, this wasn’t some random prank…
