The car kept speeding up faster and faster–I knew instantly the driver was bad news!

I flipped over, lunged at him, and pressed my wolf claws right to his neck. Then I snapped, “Spit it out! Who sent you?”
This driver was tough as nails. My claws had already cut his skin, blood dripping down, but he didn’t make a peep. He just kept speeding up, his face totally blank.
Victoria sniffed him and told me–this driver was a special werewolf. His wolf spirit let him brush off pain and injuries. Basically, he was next to impossible to kill.
And the car doors were welded shut. On top of that, someone had slathered “special silver poison” on them!
Even with Lily and Victoria’s dual wolf spirit energy, I couldn’t be sure I could break the door and escape while the car was flying down the road–without touching a drop of that poison.
Right now, the only thing that mattered was stopping the car fast.
I thought for a split second, then flipped over to the driver’s seat to yank the steering wheel.
But when I hit the brake, I realized the brake line was cut–no brakes at all.
And there was even a time bomb tied to the brake. The display said only two minutes left till it blew!
Going after an “Omega” with poison and a bomb–they really went all out.
Whoever this was, they were dead set on killing me.
I looked out the window at all the cars zooming by. My heart dropped even more.
It was rush hour. If the bomb went off now, I could get out safe with my dual wolf spirit energy. But all the regular werewolves in the cars outside would get hurt for no reason–maybe even killed.
The car kept careening out of control. The ocean was right under the bridge. It was going too fast to jump. I had to make sure I didn’t drag any other cars into this mess.
I glanced at the bomb’s timer–less than ten seconds left!
The bomb was gonna blow any second!
I gritted my teeth, fired up my dual wolf spirit energy, and used my body to yank the whole car around- straight for the ocean under the bridge!
Kael’s POV:
I was in the Lycan King’s private council hall at the Thunder Pack, listening to alphas from a few core packs give their reports. All of a sudden, I got this weird, uneasy feeling. My wolf spirit Zeus was howling

A second later, my beta Gary–who never broke the rules–burst in. He looked panicked, walked right up to me, and whispered in my ear, “Your Majesty, Ms. Krom’s in trouble!”
The second I heard that, my blood ran cold. My chest felt so tight I could barely breathe.
I clenched my fists so hard my wolf claws popped out, stabbing my palms. The pain was the only thing keeping me from losing my cool.
