Gary stared at his back as he walked away, taking ages to pull himself together.

After all these years, he’d never seen Kael this freaked out.

Once he got his orders, he rushed to get things ready.

The people in the meeting room looked confused and started murmuring-

“Who’s this Ms. Krom? Why’s the King so worked up over her?”

“Yeah, I’ve never heard of her before.”

“I bet she’s the King’s mate.”

“But I never heard the King had a bonded mate, though?”

At the same time, at the Golder Manor in the Fragrance Pack, news of Lira’s car explosion had already gotten there.

Edward rounded up all the family members right away.

With that, he stormed out without looking back, immediately using his alpha power to call up all the Fragrance Pack’s resources to search for Lira.

He thought back to their first meeting, in that thick forest, when she’d saved him–smart and cool as cucumber.

She was like a little fox, sneaky and cute. Even though she was just an Omega, she had more calm than most high–rank werewolves her age.
