Just from Kael’s voice, Gary could tell–this was the calm before the Lycan King lost his temper for real.

His body shook without him trying. Besides being on the battlefield, he’d never felt such strong killing intent coming from the Lycan King.

He knew whoever hurt Lira this time was as good as dead…

Meanwhile, Lira–even though her dual wolf spirits and Sun had teamed up to pull her into her space at the last second–stayed out cold.

“What do we do? Is she ever gonna wake up?” Sun squatted next to Lira and asked, all worried.

Blue stared at Lira’s face and said firmly, “No way. Her body already soaked up the strong energy from this space. Plus, with the dual wolf spirits protecting her, it’ll heal on its own.

“She’s just passed out ‘cause she used up all her energy trying to keep the other cars from getting caught up in the accident.”

Sun finally calmed down after hearing that. “Then when will she wake up?”

“No idea. We just have to wait.”

At that moment, in the Golder Manor of the Fragrance Pack…

In the dining room, all the Golder family members were eating dinner, but the air was super weird and quiet.

The search team the Golder family sent out had been dragging the ocean for almost two days. All they found was some car wreckage–nothing else..

But everyone already figured Lira was gone for good. After all, she was just a weak Omega.

Right then, Dennis ran in, scared out of his wits, and yelled, “Alpha! Someone took down all the guards at the manor gate and broke in!”

Edward stared at the door in shock and hurried outside. The others followed right behind him.

As soon as they got to the door, more than a dozen cars pulled up in front of the main house. A bunch of guys in black jumped out fast.

Finally, the door to the middle car opened, and a man stepped out, walking slowly and steadily.

His deep eyes shot out a terrifying look. Every step he took felt like it could freeze the air around him. The intense pressure coming off him made even Edward, an alpha, feel like he couldn’t catch his breath.

Edward wasn’t one of the core alpha members who got to go into the Lycan King’s council hall, so he didn’t recognize Kael.

He stared at Kael, who looked so powerful, and tried to play it cool. “Who are you, man? Why’d you break into our place? I don’t think we’ve ever met.”

Kael stuck his hands in his pockets, staring at the group with cold eyes. A bloodthirsty smile pulled at his lips.

Even though he hadn’t slept in a full day and night, he didn’t look tired at all. If anything, it made him even more dangerously good–looking.

“Take them away!”

He didn’t even look at Edward. With one order, the guys in black behind him walked straight toward Krista and Cheryl.

The two women screamed and hid behind Edward right away. “What are you doing? Why are you grabbing us? Grandpa, help me!”

“Edward, help me!”

Edward stared at the mess, confused. “Sir, why are you doing this?”

Kael slammed the investigation results into Edward’s chest. “If you don’t get it, I’ll show you.”

Edward read the papers, then turned to Krista and Cheryl, his voice shaking with anger. “Did you two do this to Lira?”
