Chapter 94 She’s Back

Kael’s POV:

When I saw that familiar lump on my bed, I froze solid.

I was gonna get closer to check, but a circle of blue light popped up around that lump.

Slowly, the blue light faded right away.

I held my breath, watched it all, and walked to the bed, totally on edge.

My Lira–the one I’d been obsessing over day and night–was sound asleep there. Her long eyelashes made a little shadow under her eyes. Her face was kinda pale, her curly hair spread out on the bed, and she was wrapped in a white dress, like an angel.

If I hadn’t smelled her familiar Omega scent, I would’ve thought I was dreaming.

I was so nervous I didn’t make a peep. I lay down softly next to her, put my arm around her, and felt the warm touch under my hand. Only then did I know for sure–she was really back!

It wasn’t a dream. She was actually in my arms again!

Watching her sleep peacefully in my arms, I finally let my guard down.

Right then, I just wanted to stare at her. I didn’t care how she’d ended up in my bed without anyone noticing–obviously, none of my guards at the door had a clue either.

And that blue light around her earlier… everything about her was so mysterious, so crazy…

But none of that mattered. As long as she was safe, that’s all that counted.

Maybe because I hadn’t rested in so long, or maybe because of her familiar, comforting scent, I relaxed little by little, closed my eyes, and fell asleep.

Lira’s POV:

I slept all fuzzy–like the whole time. The air around me got hotter and hotter, like I was back in that torture basement at the Brookstone Pack.

Flames were closing in on me from all sides. I tried to run, but I couldn’t get away no matter how hard I tried.

I begged everyone for help, even my dad. But they just stared at me, laughing coldly, calling me a useless Omega loser who had it coming.

“No! No! Help me!”

I felt like the flames were gonna eat me alive. I struggled and screamed, but I couldn’t break free.

Suddenly, a deep, soft voice whispered in my ear, “Lira, don’t be scared. I’m right here.”

That familiar voice and scent made me relax right away. The hellish scene in front of me vanished completely.

I didn’t know how long went by, but in the endless dark, I heard Lily and Victoria calling me-

“Lira, wake up!

“Wake up, Lira!”

I opened my eyes all dazed, looked around, and saw the room was totally strange.

I sat up, pulled the covers back, and was gonna get out of bed.

The door suddenly opened.

I looked up, and there was that familiar guy walking in.

His sharp, handsome face had a soft smile. He had on a black sweater and beige sweatpants–no more cold, distant Lycan King in a suit. Instead, he felt warm and close, like someone I could lean on.

Kael walked over, messed up my hair a little, and said softly, “You doing better?”

“Is this your room? How’d I get here?” I got my head together and asked, confused.

All I remembered was trying to keep the exploding car from hurting other cars on the road. I used my dual wolf spirit energy to turn the car and drive it into the ocean. After the explosion, I drew a blank.
