A coldness spread through Darion’s expression. His voice became more measured as he asked, “What exactly did you say to her before?

She couldn’t exactly spill her thoughts to Darion.

After thinking for a moment, she said, “I only promised her you’d stay away from Miya. She still cares about you, so she was willing to give me a chance. But now…”

She sighed helplessly, the weight of the situation clear in her voice, revealing that she was out of options.

Darion calmly said, “Then keep talking to her, but I’m not divorcing her.”

Helen’s face darkened. “You want me to keep talking to her? Do you have any idea how badly she sees me now?”

Darion chuckled lightly. “Mothers and daughters-in-law have never really gotten along. You should’ve gotten used to it by

now.”

“You little brat,” Helen grumbled, her anger bubbling over. “What kind of son are you? Stirring up trouble between your mom and wife?”

Darion, still cold, kept his gaze fixed out the window. “Bottom line is, I’m not getting divorced.”

He hung up without another word.

Helen stared at the dead phone line, fuming.

Richard, noticing her frustration, walked over and asked, “Is this about Darion again?”

Helen sighed, clearly overwhelmed. “I can’t stay here anymore. I swear, this kid is going to give me a heart attack.”

Richard sat down, his tone casual. “But didn’t you introduce him to someone else? How’s that going?”

Helen sighed again, rubbing her temples. “It’s not moving as fast as I hoped. And it can’t be too obvious. If Darion catches wind of it, he’ll turn it into a mess.”

Richard frowned. “You shouldn’t be doing this.”

Helen shot him a sharp look. “What am I supposed to do? Just let Miya worm her way in? Miya’s smart. She knows how to use Keith to get close to Darion.

“If I don’t stop it now, she’ll ruin everything. I’m not going to let that happen. It’s just too embarrassing.”

Richard said directly. “Then take custody of Keith, so Miya won’t have any reason to be involved with us.”

Helen sighed heavily. “You think I haven’t thought of that? Sandra’s the one who stopped me. She says Keith has already lost his father. He can’t lose his mother, either. I don’t know what to do anymore.”

Helen’s frustration was clear. She regretted not going abroad with Miya from the beginning. If they had, none of this would have happened.

But with Emely’s sudden departure, they were left heartbroken, and work became their only distraction.

Thalia took a quick break, sipping water while reviewing her script. She listened to Wesley’s voice in her earpiece, pointing out areas where her emotions didn’t quite hit the mark and offering suggestions for improvement.
