But she didn’t just turn and walk away. Helen’s words echoed in her mind, and she realized Darion had come to talk about the divorce
She walked up to him, her eyes cool and distant. “You don’t need to make a special trip. Just go to the courthouse tomorrow,”
Darion met her gaze, unwavering. “Thalia, we’re not getting a divorce.”
Her expression darkened further. “Darion, seriously. You’re the one who’s been wronging me from the start. Why can’t you just let go? Why can’t you accept it’s over?”
Darion’s voice was calm, almost detached. “If you think I’ve wronged you, I’ll make it right. And that’s exactly why we shouldn’t divorce.”
Thalia inwardly cursed, ‘What a shameless bastard.’
She glanced over at Wesley, who was holding a coffee cup not far away. “Mr. Chase, if this guy comes around again, don’t let him in.”
Wesley took a slow sip of his coffee, unfazed. “Sorry, can’t do that. He’s the big sponsor.”
Thalia sighed, feeling defeated.
Darion didn’t seem to care about her frustration. He kept his eyes on her and said, “Don’t worry. The things you’re afraid of won’t happen.”
Thalia didn’t have the energy to argue anymore. Without a word, she turned and went back into the recording booth.
But seeing him had thrown her off, and her concentration was shot.
She wasn’t in the mood for another recording session, so she called it quits for the day and buried herself in the script, hoping it would help her get her mind off things.
Darion didn’t stick around for long and left shortly after.
Thalia picked up her phone and dialed Helen’s number. The phone rang three times before it connected.
Thalia,” Helen’s voice came through, flat and distant. “We can’t just brush off our deal. You agreed to it, so you need to follow through.”
Thalia didn’t hesitate. “Do you know what Darion did? He helped my parents give Miya the shares of the Coleman Group.”
Helen’s expression darkened instantly. She hadn’t expected Darion to go that far.
She was at a loss for words.
Thalia continued, her voice steady but firm. “Helen, I can’t keep going on like this. If we stay in this marriage, it’s just going to keep dragging us both down. Eventually, someone’s going to get seriously hurt, either him or me. You really want to see that happen?”
Helen sighed deeply, the exhaustion clear in her voice. “You know how Darion is. He won’t make this easy.”
The last time. Thalia had pushed him to his breaking point, forcing him to agree, but now the situation was different. They didn’t have that kind of leverage anymore.

Besides, Darion wouldn’t let them control him this time.

Thalia knew that, but she had no choice. ‘Helen, you and Richard need to figure something out. I don’t want to take this too far, but if I have to, I will.”
With that, she ended the call and stared blankly at the script in front of her. She tried to focus, but the words wouldn’t stick.
Instead, she picked up her phone again, thinking about reaching out to Wendy. But then she saw a post from Miya.
It was a simple photo, just a shot of a man’s hand gripping the steering wheel, the long fingers unmistakable. The logo on the car was one Thalia knew all too well.
