I Divorced You Now You Beg (Thalia and Darion) novel Chapter 145

Chapter 145

Thalia suddenly sat up and yanked the IV out of her arm. She grabbed her jacket and walked out of the hospital.

She called a ride home. Once she was back in her own space, the ache in her chest finally started to ease.

She took a hot shower and curled up under her blankets. Sleep came slowly, but her body knew how to heal itself.

The night had grown dark. People were scattered throughout the park, searching everywhere.

Ryan held a tablet that showed surveillance footage. The last place Keith had appeared was near the children’s play area.

He had gone behind the carousel and then vanished.

They had already sent people to search that section.

When Darion arrived, Miya grabbed his arm. Her hands were shaking. “We still haven’t found Keith,” she said, her voice breaking. “Darion, what are we going to do?”

Darion’s expression was calm. “Call the police,” he said.

Miya froze for a second, then nodded quickly. “Right, right, the police,” she stammered. “How did I not think of that? I’ll call them right now.”

She fumbled with her phone and dialed.

Darion took the tablet from Ryan and studied the screen.

After a moment, he handed it back to Ryan and started walking in one direction.

The park was dark. Even with the streetlights, the tall trees blocked most of the light with their thick canopies.

Some areas were completely pitch black.

The children’s play area stretched out before them. Darion walked over to the carousel, scanned the surroundings, then headed in another direction.

He passed spinning teacup rides, a small roller coaster, and a pirate ship along the way.

Further in, he spotted a large pumpkin house.

During the day, the pumpkin’s mouth stayed open as an entrance, with a slide built into the other side.

At night, the staff closed the door to keep the kids from wandering in and getting hurt.

The pumpkin house had been under repair recently. Orange construction barriers surrounded it, and this whole section of the park sat in complete darkness.

Darion vaulted over the barrier without hesitation.

“Keith?’ he called out toward the pumpkin house.

“Darry?” a small, shaky voice answered from inside.

Chapter 115

Darion rushed over and yanked the pumpkin’s mouth open Keith’s tiny body was curled up in the darkness

“Keith, come here,” Darion said. He couldn’t fit through the entrance, so he crouched at the opening and waited.

Keith didn’t move at first. But when he finally recognized Darion, he crawled forward. The moment Darion lifted him out, the boy burst into tears.

“Darry!” Keith sobbed against his shoulder

Darion held him close and kept his voice gentle. “I found you,” he murmured. “You’re okay now. Nothing’s going to hurt you.”

Keith’s sobs only grew harder. His body shook with each cry.

Darion didn’t try to stop him. He just held the boy and let him get it all out.

“Keith!” Miya ran over, tears streaming down her face. She reached out to take him.

But Keith pulled away from her and buried his face in Darion’s neck. His small hands gripped Darion’s shirt as he’d never let go,

Miya was sobbing so hard she could barely catch her breath. “Baby, where did you run off to?” she cried. “Do you have any idea how hard Mommy looked for you? You almost gave me a heart attack.”
