Chapter 231
He was always calculated, hardly ever acted on impulse.
Sebastian gave Thalia a slight nod, then got up and left.
Wendy sat in her chair, not wanting to leave but too scared of Darion to stay, caught in a mess of nerves.
Thalia let out a slow breath and said, “Wendy, why don’t you go home too?”
“But…” Wendy glanced at Darion, worry written all over her face.
Thalia gave her a reassuring smile. “Don’t worry, he won’t actually kill me.”
Darion’s expression stiffened for a second, his eyes turning icy as he gave her a cold, sharp look.
Wendy bit her lip, wanting to say she’d stay with Thalia.
But Thalia had already taken her hand and led her to the door. “Just go home, get some rest, and stop worrying. I’ll be okay.”
As Thalia ushered her out, Wendy’s face was still clouded with worry.
To Wendy, Darion was like a wild beast, dangerous, unpredictable, and terrifying.
No.
He was even scarier than that.
His temper was all over the place, and after she’d blocked him so many times and even moved here behind his back, he had o be furious. “What if he actually hits Thalia?’ Wendy thought, her heart racing.
Wendy lingered at the door for quite a while, unable to make herself leave.
he listened intently for any sounds from inside. If she heard anything suspicious, she’d call the cops in a heartbeat.
Thalia turned to Darion, her voice cold as ice. “Is this what you wanted?”
Why’d you have to move?” Darion asked.
le didn’t even bother to get up, just grabbed her fork and kept picking the meat into the hamburger like nothing happened.
le made it seem like they were just having a casual conversation.
I told you, I just couldn’t stand living there,” Thalia replied.
Didn’t you say you were going back to Rosewood Manor?” Darion looked at her. “You lied to me.”
I wasn’t a question. It was a statement.
“halia nodded. “Yeah, I wanted to get away from them, but I also wanted to get away from you. Darion, I really, really hate ou now. Don’t you get it?”
I can feel it,” Darion said quietly. “It’s just hard to believe you once loved me.”

Chapter 231
Thalia’s lashes quivered as she gave a wry, bitter smile. “If I’d known you’d end up hurting me like this, I never would’ve let myself fall for you.”
Darion set his fork aside and, without saying a word, started clearing the table. He even washed the dishes, which was totally out of character for him.
Thalia couldn’t make sense of his behavior at all.
Her nerves stayed taut, and she had no clue what he was going to do next.
When he finished tidying up, he walked out of the kitchen with his shirt sleeves rolled up to his elbows, showing off his strong forearms. His face was cold and distant, and those narrow, deep-set eyes were shadowed, impossible to read.
You couldn’t guess what he was thinking.
Thalia kept her eyes fixed on him, her gaze full of confusion and caution. “What exactly are you trying to do?”
Darion walked over to the couch and sat down. “I’m your guest, you know. Shouldn’t you at least offer me a drink?”
He spotted the glass of water she’d poured for Sebastian, still sitting on the coffee table.
