Chapter 248
Thalia couldn’t hear what was being said on the other end, but Diana’s face lit up with a smile. She nodded and said, “Okay. I’ll wait for you.”
The call ended quickly.
Thalia asked, “Diana, what was that about?”
Diana smiled and said, “Your mom used to have someone come clean my place regularly. They went yesterday and found I wasn’t home, so she called today to check on me. I told her I was here, and she said she wanted to meet up.”
She looked genuinely happy. “Thalia, your mom hasn’t called me in ages.”
Thalia felt a little off inside, but she kept it to herself and said, “Alright, I’ll go with you.”
“It’s okay.” Diana waved her hand dismissively. “You should head to work. After I see your mom, I’ll go back.”
“Already?” Thalia said, clearly reluctant. “Stay a few more days, Diana. I really miss you.”
Diana replied, “Just come find me when you’re done with work. I never really get used to being here.”
Thalia hugged Diana, pouting playfully and trying to get her to stay a bit longer.
But Diana wouldn’t budge, so Thalia had no choice but to give up.
Still, Thalia skipped work. She wanted to stick around Diana, just in case Shyla tried to say something she shouldn’t in front
of her.
Thalia took Diana straight to the Coleman family’s house. Shyla was home, resting up, and she looked a lot better than
before.
Thalia, you’re back too,” Shyla said, her face lighting up when she saw her.
Shyla was clearly happy to see her.
‘Diana, please, have a seat,” Shyla said, gesturing for her to sit down.
She had the servants bring out some coffee and fruit. Even though she was smiling, the sense of distance between them was still obvious.
Why didn’t you let me know you were coming? I could’ve sent someone to pick you up,” Shyla said.
Diana replied, “I just wanted to see Thalia and grab my sapphire earrings while I was here.”
Shyla looked surprised. “Thalia gave you the sapphire earrings?”
Yeah, Diana nodded. “I’ve been looking for them. You know that, right?”
Shyla was about to say something else, but Thalia cut in, “Where’s Dad?”
Shyla shot Thalia a look, catching the warning in her eyes. She quickly replied, “He’s at the office. He left early this morning and should be back by noon.”
Then she turned to Diana and asked, “Is there anything you’d like to eat? I can have the kitchen make it for you.”

Chapter 248
“No need to go to any trouble,” Diana said, shaking her head. “I’ll be leaving soon.”
Shyla looked a bit taken aback. “Why are you in such a hurry? Why not stay a few more days?”
Diana just smiled gently. “I’m not really used to being here. I feel more at home back in my own place”
Shyla just let it go and said nothing more.
Her gaze wandered, as if she was thinking about something else.
Thalia remained wary, wondering if Shyla was still eyeing those sapphire earrings.
Now that the earrings were in Diana’s hands, there was no way Shyla could possibly take them back.
