Chapter 251
Shyla looked at Thalia and said, “Diana should have known about this by now.”

Thalia’s eyes were icy. “What do you get out of this? Isn’t Diana your mother? Why would you do something like this?”
‘How could you treat Diana this way?’ Thalia thought, feeling indignant.
‘She’s already at this age. Why can’t you just let bygones be bygones and leave those old wounds buried?’ Thalia wondered.
But Shyla shook her head. “These things have been weighing on me for decades. Now that I finally have the chance to say them, why can’t I finally speak up?”
“You…” Thalia began, but the words caught in her throat.
Diana squeezed her arm gently. “Thalia, don’t worry. I’ve lived a long life. I’ve seen it all. I’ve been through worse. You don’t need to worry about me.”
“But…” Thalia tried to say more.
‘How could I not worry?’ Thalia thought, her heart aching.
She never believed a word Shyla said.
‘Diana was the homewrecker? That’s total bullshit!’ Thalia thought, her anger flaring.
But if Shyla really said all that, would Diana start overthinking it?
Diana gave her a gentle smile. “Sweetheart, I want to hear what she has to say.”
Thalia’s eyes stung with tears, and for a moment, she couldn’t say a word.
Upstairs.
In the room.
Shyla closed the door, walked over, and sat down in front of Diana. She said, “Vicky was my dad’s lover.”
It was a bombshell right from the start, but Diana’s expression stayed calm.
Shyla continued, “Back when your family and the Mcgee family arranged for a marriage alliance, my dad didn’t want to be tied down. He decided to run away with Vicky. They had everything planned.
“He was even going to give her those sapphire earrings as a symbol of their love. But the Mcgee family found out, used their influence to force my dad to give up on her, and made Vicky marry someone else right away.”
As she spoke, her voice trembled with emotion, a hint of sadness lingering in her eyes.
“How did you meet Vicky?” Diana suddenly asked.
Shyla hesitated, her eyes flickering. “That’s not important. What matters is, those sapphire earrings weren’t yours to begin with. Why not just give them to me? Mom, there’s no point in holding onto something that was never meant for you, right?”
Thalia, listening nearby, let out a cold laugh. “What a hypocrite.”

Chapter 251
Shyla frowned at her. I’m talking to Diana. Don’t butt in.”
But Thalia shot back, “Then why don’t you answer Diana’s question? That was their business, not yours. How do you know all the details? Did Mason tell you? He always kept it from Diana, so why would he ever tell you?”
Diana kept her eyes on Shyla. “Tell me, how did you meet Vicky?”
She didn’t care about the keepsake; her attention was on something else entirely.
Shyla’s brows knitted together. “Mom, that’s not important…”
