Chapter 261

Thalia gazed out into the darkness beyond the window, feeling as if she was sinking deeper into an endless abyss. No matter how hard she tried, there was just no way out.
“I just don’t understand why he’s so hung up on this. Isn’t it clear enough that I don’t love him anymore?” Thalia said.
Matthew let out a cold laugh. “He just can’t let it go. It’s obvious you loved him once, but now that you don’t, he refuses to face the real reasons. He keeps acting like you’re just being difficult. Honestly, I can’t believe him.”
Thalia pulled her lips into a bitter smile. “Talking about it now doesn’t mean anything. You went through so much pain because of the divorce, and in the end, it was all for nothing. I’m really sorry.”
Matthew was silent for a moment, then suddenly said, “Don’t withdraw the lawsuit yet. Give me two days.”
Thalia was taken aback. “What do you mean?”
Matthew replied, “I might have a way to help you.”
Thalia felt as if her lifeless heart had been revived. Her voice trembled as she asked, “Are you… serious?”
Even with all his power as the head of the Flynn Group, Sebastian couldn’t find a top expert. Could Matthew really pull it
off?
Matthew’s tone was vague. “Just wait for now. I’ll get back to you soon.”
“Okay,” Thalia replied.
At this point, Thalia really had no other options left.
Clearly, there was nothing else she could do.
So, she decided to take a chance.
Matthew hung up quickly, and Thalia lingered by the window for a while before finally heading back to the hospital room.
She hadn’t gotten much sleep these past couple of days, but now that she’d learned Diana was scheduled for surgery and would soon recover, her worries eased a bit.
Curled up on the small bed, she dozed off for a short while.
In a haze, she felt someone sit down beside her and cover her with a coat.
The familiar scent filled her with disgust.
She opened her eyes to find Darion sitting right next to her, those dark, piercing eyes watching her intently.
‘Did I disturb you? Darion asked softly.
His voice was barely above a whisper.
Thalia sat up, and his coat slipped off her shoulders. She didn’t bother to pick it up.
“Is there something you need?” she asked.

Her tone was icy.
Darion stared at her and asked, “When are you going to drop the lawsuit?”
The surgery was scheduled for two days later, just so she’d be pressured into dropping the lawsuit.
Thalia looked at him and said, “I want to wait until after Diana’s surgery.”
“No, Thalia, I can’t let you do that,” Darion said softly.
He let out a quiet sigh. “What if you change your mind after the surgery?”
Thalia shot him a cold look. “You’re forcing me like this. Don’t you worry I’ll hate you for it?”
But Darion just replied. “As long as you stay by my side, that’s all I care about.”
Thalia just couldn’t figure out what was going on in his mind.
She decisively looked away and said, “I’ll do it the day after tomorrow.”
That would be the day before Diana’s surgery.
